DISCUSSION
1. It has been discussed that English is a language of learning, spelling, grammar, etc. whereas
literacy means ability to read and write. In both the teaching and learning process is different.
English only helps in improving grammar, punctuation, etc. But in literacy allow in learning
language and writing it. The skills are improved through it.
2. The reading process involves reader, text, and purpose in social and cultural context. There are
5 stages in it that is phonemic awareness, word identify, fluency, vocab and comprehension
(Barton & Woolley 2017). While writing process stages are pre writing, research, drafting, revise
and editing.
3. There are various range of learning experience such as online, in person, distance, individual,
etc. These all enable in learning and gaining knowledge. Moreover, resources are books, notes,
internet and other which help in learning many things and gaining knowledge about it. This will
result in giving varied experience to students.
4. The literacy programs design to assess communication skill are open count reading and daily
quest. Both programs focused in improving reading, writing skills, etc. of students. It is reviewed
that programs outcomes resulted in enhancing language skills that is English.
But on other hand, in open count reading it only focus on reading language. While in daily quest
the writing skills were improved as well.
5. It includes methods such as vocab development, comprehension strategies, etc. through which
children literacy skills can be enhanced (Dressen-Hammouda 2021). These all methods support
in different way in student literacy skills. Besides that, tools that support children are technology,
software, etc. by which children literacy skills is improved. They can learn about writing and
reading skills.
6. It is discussed that strategies that can be developed through use of ICT is Education program.
This strategy can be developed in which use technology such as videos, software, applications,
etc. is used to provide online learning and education. It will led to enhance student literacy. Here,
info related to reading, writing, etc. can be included through which student will learn. Another
strategy that can be developed is cooperative learning. In this student can study in group with
tutor and it will include example of reading and writing.
