Case Study
AI Summary
This case study addresses the behavioural challenges of a five-year-old named Ruby in a kindergarten setting. Ruby exhibits aggressive behaviours such as punching, kicking, and pinching other children, stemming from potential conduct disorder and a lack of family attention. The response outlines various tactics and interventions, including communication strategies, the circle of security intervention, and counselling, to support Ruby in making positive decisions and guiding her behaviour. It emphasizes preparing the physical and social environment through activities like puzzle-solving and group coloring to foster better relationships with peers. The analysis considers family, cultural, and ethical factors, advocating for teaching Ruby appropriate behaviour and emotional regulation. It also highlights the effective utilization of policy frameworks like EYLF and ACEQA, and the importance of external support organizations. The application of Bowlby's attachment theory underscores the significance of caregiver relationships in shaping Ruby's social development and addressing her behavioural issues, ultimately aiming to cultivate ethical and positive interactions.

INTRODUCTION
Understanding and supporting behaviour refers to process of gaining knowledge related
to individuals attribute and actions. The current case study explains about the behaviour of Ruby,
who is a five-year-old having issues to manage her behaviour in her kindergarten. She is has a
negative attitude towards the students and teachers which is not beneficial for her to achieve
success in her life. She has been into physical fights that has become an issue for the teachers to
manage her behaviour towards other children. Several incidents of her punching, kicking and
pinching other students have been highlighted which is a matter of concern for the teacher. The
current case study will be a response which will evaluate different strategies in order to control
the situation (Barrett, Evans and Pritchard-Wilkes, 2020).
MAIN BODY
1. What behaviours identify in the case study and why do I think they are happening?
From the case study that is related to Ruby a five-year-old girl, it has been identified that
she have conduct disorder behaviour. It means she displays aggressive, when someone is not
listening to her and providing directions, which she never listened. Along with these things, the
current behaviour of Ruby also displays destructive attribute that violate the rights of other
children plays with her (Diakopoulos, Trielli and Lee, 2021). Lack of family attention and their
concern become the biggest reasons behind behaviour and activities she conducts into practical
manner. It put negative impact on other children's, playing around her, because Ruby, has had
different outbursts. According to her behaviour she punches and kick other child's. Epstein's
theory is relevant in case of Ruby that drive family and companies attention toward socializing
child.
2. What tactics and interventions could I utilize to support the learner to make decisions and
guide their own behaviour?
By using range of communication strategies, management can support Ruby and guide
her own behaviour. With effective communication and collaboration, she can improve herself
even better than now, in term of engaging themselves with other students (Brower and Cox,
2021).
The circle of security is the best intervention that management can take in the context o
Ruby for purpose of enabling her to make decisions and improving her behaviour. According to
this intervention, they can research that secure child exhibit maximize empathy, better relation

with parents and other children's as well as greater self-esteem. Counselling is the best policy
that form to improve child behaviour and boost their morale appropriately.
3. How I would prepare the physical & social environment to support to child relationship with
learning and others.
Puzzle solving is the best example of physical environment that a tutor may efforts to
create in the preschool, or kindergarten. It will help to make children's able to make relationship
with others, who are playing with them. Colour filling in a group, is the best approach that
contribute children to make effective relation with others and learning environment where they
learn and develop knowledge with others. I might include, specify policy such as group
engagement that drive the attention of individual student or learner toward conducting
collaborative practices (Mok and et.al., 2020).
4. What are the family, cultural & ethical considerations affiliated to the case study?
In case of Ruby, her family may focus on ethical consideration in term of teaching and
guiding her how to behave ethically and appropriately with others, who are playing with her in
the kindergarten. Related to case study of Ruby, cultural consideration drives the attention of
individual toward taking strategic approach such as talking about emotion and ways that enable 5
year old girl to behave appropriately. Ethical consideration may also drive the attention of
management toward teaching Ruby, how she can behave and react while waiting for a chair and
other things.
5. How can I make effective utilization of policy frameworks and external support companies in
your response to the case study?
I would make utilization of effective policy concepts and external support firms in case of
Ruby, in appropriate manner. It will drive my attention toward teaching her how to behave
normally and ethically while playing with other in preschool. I would take initiative to obtain
support from companies, among which each firm is able to teach children's different concepts
and basic things that they include in their daily life schedule. Regulation 168(2)(j), it applicable
in current case as it includes process to assure education and care for students should appropriate.
6. What behaviour framework, strategy and model would you apply in response to chosen case
study?
In case of Ruby, EYLF and ACEQA, policies and models are appropriate that
management would take initiative to apply appropriate and systematically. It can be said that

EYLF policy encompasses five different types of principles that may apply in case of Ruby, in
term of securing, respecting and reciprocal relationship. According to this policy, tutor would
support children's in form of engaging them with different types of learning activities and
themselves as well to provide strategic directions that plays important role in the context of their
growth and success. Along with above practice, educator may take effort to positively attract and
interact with young children's like Ruby (Yu, Gadiraju and Dietze, 2018). It may enable them to
change the aggressive and negative behaviour of any child that may affect negatively upon
others, in varied manners. According to same concept, it is important for them value each other
understanding of each child, and trust on them as well as their views. Australian children's
education and care quality authority may provide resources and essential data to educator that is
appropriate in give case in form of improving the quality of outcomes for Ruby. It enables them
to improve the quality of life of each child, who came in the kindergarten to study and learn
something new.
7. What theories have I used to guide your techniques to behaviour management in case study
response?
Child development is occurred by birth to adulthood which is mostly seemed being
ignored by most of human history. The understanding of child development is necessary so it
gives access to appreciate the emotional, physical, educational success by which child goes
through from birth to adulthood. In the case of ruby the suitable theory would be Bowlby's
attachment theory which shows social development of children. The relations with caregivers is
most significant for child development and proceed with influencing the social relations
throughout life. Although, the leading attention from its family is significant because the
negative impact will reflect aggressive behaviour of ruby, they must pay attention towards her
disorder issue to socializing her. The behaviour is conduct by her is very abnormal which could
create drastic outcomes (Burton, 2022). By getting the proper attention in appropriate position
will help to resolve the issue, and she would be able to learn about managing relations with
others. Thus, It can be said that children who get the care and support are more familiar to
develop safe attachment style and who get the less certain care perceived with forming the
uncertain, avoiding, aggressive disordered behaviours.

CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion, it has been concluded that by developing effective
strategies and taking varied interventions into consideration, management has enabled children's,
to behave ethically and positively. The consideration of ethical and cultural related allow them to
reach desire outcomes and provide the same to others such as child family, etc. The initiatives
and efforts has enabled ruby to behave ethically and appropriately, which is important for them
to do so.
