Introduction.
The paper discusses on how to utilize the concepts of cultural transmission, enculturation,
economic inequality, social stratification, and functionalism and conflict theory to ensure
equality of education to all students and teachers roles in the classroom. Therefore, the
discussion will elaborate on how the concepts learned in class helps in creating a better society.
How teacher could build a better society
Teachers have been identified as the key factors which help in building a better society. For
example, participates on the cultural transmission that helps in ensuring equality in the classroom
and in society in different ways (Freire, 2018). Basically, education involves the process by
which cultural heritage is entirely transmitted from one group to the other. This forms the room
for teachers to teach on issues related to social stratification. The school curriculum has some
concepts which can be easily understood with the help of culture. Most of the subjects such as
religious course uses cultural values to transmit education to students and also to the whole
society. Cultural value acts as tools for communication that helping in teaching subjects such as
English in school. In addition, society needs to teach students and teachers on those values which
aid in learning cultural skills. For example on agricultural sciences which depends on cultural
values.
Teachers are the subject of the learning process while the students in the school are the mere
objects of learning. He also said that teachers talk on various concepts while the students listen
and apply what they have obtained from the teachers.
Therefore education as a practice of freedom guides the society on what to do. In school teachers
are in the position to teach on how to reduce cultural differences and how to instill the concept of

functionalism (Freire, 2018). The incorporation of teachers to education-related concepts helps in
banking appropriate knowledge to students thus solving societal challenges.
Why we need public school.
Public schools are associated with a number of benefits which makes them important in society.
Some of the benefits include;
Teachers in public schools have more qualifications thus in position to teach students well (Stein,
2015).
Students in public schools can spend more time learning the core subjects.
Public schools are able to sponsor a lot of activities such as extra-curricular sports and clubs.
Population in public school is diverse thus allow students to interact with different groups’ thus
cultural transmission.
Role of being teacher in public school
The other aspect which promotes educational support from the teachers is through goals of
public schooling. Educational goals are the key factors which helped to bind society as one party.
Basically, public schools were established to serve the individual desires and to serve the whole
public (Spring ,2010).Teachers in public schools find apt mechanisms that will aid in promoting
better education through the use of instructions. Educational goals are therefore subdivided into
social goals, economic goals, and political goals. Teachers use political goals to instill aspect of
patriotism in the society thus helping in reducing cultural differences that may arise within the
society. Also, teachers emphasize on social goals which help in reducing the cultural differences.
In addition, public schooling may help in identifying the democratic leadership within the

students. The fairness selection used by teachers when enrolling new students instills the concept
of conflict theory. Also, teachers always prepare the students to have apt techniques that will
help them to be part of society. The social goals of public schooling solve the cultural
inequalities within society .Teachers are the solution to social problems facing society. This
means that teachers will help students think and reason thus being in a position to handle societal
grievances. On another hand, the economic goals of public schooling are to solve the economic
inequalities within society. Teachers educate students on economic competitiveness and how
students should ensure there is fairness in economic competition. Public schooling, therefore,
prepares students to be the future workers who will be driving the global economy. Therefore the
author has clearly indicated how public schooling focuses on political, social and economic goals
of education. Teachers should focus on the goals outlined so as to prepare the students
economically, socially and politically.
In addition, the work of Paulo Freire gives some concepts on the role of teachers to the topic of
the paper. The author based his arguments on human liberation that is aided by the critical
consciousness and the dialogical methods of interaction between the persons (Freire,
2018). Paulo shows how enculturation plays a key role in ensuring equality in school. Basically,
enculturation shows how people learn about different cultures from different groups. Paulo
Freire seriously ignored the teacher's mode of depositing the knowledge into students' minds in
school. Therefore, Paulo favored the use of problem-posing teaching strategy that will help both
the students and teachers in school to enter in a dialogue thus fixing any deviation detected when
schooling (Freire, 2018). This concept catalyzed the teacher-student relationship in school and
outside the school. In his narrative on education transmission, Paulo indicated that education is
an act of depositing whereby students are the depositories and teachers are identified as the

depositors. Paulo's concept of education banking gives clarification on how conflict theory based
on social status and economic inequality can be solved within society. Instead, Paulo has
seriously emphasized on the teachers' roles in the school whereby he indicated that;

The other concept which supports the topic of the paper is based on the work of Jean Anyon.The
author has supported societal concepts such as economic inequality and the status quo in society.
In his work "Social class and school knowledge "Jean has indicated how Max Weber and Karl
Marx tried to reveal the difference in education knowledge as observed in earlier societies
(Anyon, 2010). Jean clearly indicates how the education gap exist based on the aspect of the
status quo within the society. This academic gap existed back in 1972 as explained by Max
Weber and Karl Marx where the society started the issue of wealth and income inequality.
Indeed the economic inequality tries to widen the educational gap in schools. All people have
different levels of earning and therefore the students may not all access the same education but
after all, it's the same syllabus being taught to all student. Teaching the same content using the
same syllabus in schools helps students to have a positive attitude and also develop a sense of
direction. This shows that despite the economic inequalities, students and teachers can also do
well in mastering class concepts. Both Max Weber and Karl Weber analyses on the
nonproductive possibilities and reproductive concepts of education which are the sources of
social change within the society. The similarities and differences between students and teachers
in school count for the level of knowledge. The author summarizes by indicating how the
concept of education reproductive can help teachers to perpetuate practices to the students which
will aid in eliminating enculturation and cultural inequalities. Also, teachers' roles in social
stratification will help in grouping the students to specific groups despite the differences in their

social status. This will instill the aspect of togetherness and thus enhancing unity within the
society. Booker in his work has articulated on industrial and skilled trade in education. He
compared the traditional college with industrial education. This means that he emphasized
educational position (Stein, 2015).It indicated how educational leaders such as teachers how they
empower students on economic factors and practical skills which will help in attaining economic
equity within the society. He also wrote articles to call for support of human rights thus reducing
the issue of cultural inequalities between the whites and black Americans. This was a form of
building a new society that is free from racisms and also a society that is fully aware of its rights
and freedoms. Bookers work was relevant to what W.E.B DU BOIS emphasized on. W.E.B DU
BOIS had published on many scholarly materials which were to ensure a better society is
created.
Means of education.
Education involves gradual process that induces positive changes to human beings in society.
(Washington, 2013).Therefore, education is the process of acquiring knowledge by listening to
instruction or following the practical procedures with guidelines.
The means of education are formal education which includes use of qualified teachers who gives
instructions for example learning in classroom. The other means of education is informal
education which is any form of education which does not involve use of any particular learning
method for example teaching a child a basics such as numeric and alphabetic numbers. Also,
there is non formal education that includes teaching adult literacy education for example fitness
programs are part of non-formal education.

Therefore, to sum up, it's clear that all the concepts learned in class tend to have different
methods of supporting equality in the education system. Each aspect has been clearly discussed
showing the possible ways in which each can improve the overall education integration between
the school stakeholders (Freire, 2018). Also, the concepts learned in school have clearly
indicated how society can apply them in order to instill unity and togetherness in all their
endeavors.
