FRISK Narrative
Think of a time you were personally involved with, or a party to a disciplinary action. Was the FRISK model followed? If yes, explain how. If no, explain how the disciplinary
action would have been different had the FRISK model been applied.
I once worked as an assistant cashier at a restaurant. On June 5th, 2018, I reported working at 9am and we were supposed to be at work by
8am. This was my second time and I had been warned about arriving late. The management followed the frisk model in administering action which
according to me was fair. The manager was specific about my issue which was lateness and he quoted the date which was June 5th, 2018. He also
quoted that I reported late to work on May 20th, 2018 which was accompanied by evidence. The manager started the rule that all employees are
supported to be at their respective workplaces by 8am. Therefore, arriving at 9am was against the stipulated rules.
Moreover, the manager was clear on how my actions have impacted the organization’s success. This is because during morning hours there
are relatively many customers taking breakfast before reporting to work or school increasing the number of customers to be attended to. My action
also strained other cashiers giving them a hard time in managing cash transactions. He then issued a directive that I had to strictly follow which was
reporting to work by 8am without failure. However, if I have urgent issues to care of I must inform the senior manager in advance. He added that I
ever come to work late a certain amount of money will be deducted from my monthly basic salary. The manager also issued me with a copy of the
documents which I had to review and either comply or decline before it could be issued to the HR. I signed the document as my agreement to the
terms and conditions stated.

Confidentiality Narrative
In your own words, explain why maintaining employee confidentiality is so important when conducting an investigation.
In the workplace, investigations may be conducted for a variety of reasons. However, when it comes to carrying an investigation that
involves interviewing employees, it is important to maintain the confidentiality of the participants. The first importance of maintaining employee
confidentiality is that it encourages employees to cooperate. On the other hand, if other people know about the investigations, it may result in
second-hand information leading to cover-ups hence tampering with the evidence. This may result in a misguided course of action and unreliable
findings. Maintain confidentiality is also important in increasing trust, respect, and maintain professionalism. When the interviewee decides to share
personal information about him or her or decides to share critical information about his or her colleague it is just that the interviewee wants to help
in the investigation. Therefore, keeping the information private will build trust between the interviewer and interviewee.
Besides, maintaining employee confidentiality is critical for the reputation of an organization. For instance, if an employee finds out that the
information shared had been licked by the HR, they can sue the organization for breach of confidentiality. This will destroy the image of the
organization which will pave way for the organization’s competitors. Additionally, most people will shy away from being involved which such an
organization hence lowering the sale and profits of the organization if it is a profit-making organization. Therefore, it is important for the interview
to crucial information confidential in an investigation to avoid such scandals.
