Q11: Answer
Assigning homework to the students helps in self-learning of the student at his or her own
pace. In a classroom, a student is guided by the teacher to learn new things and gain the
subject knowledge. Once the concept has been learned completely or partially – assigning
homework to the student is critical to test the learned knowledge of the student. In the
classroom – there are various factors that comes to play such as peer pressure,
communication gap with teacher and the other students, lack of initiation by the student,
inability to conform to a peer group, negative coping mechanisms, disruptive classroom
behaviour and related effects on student learning performances. When a task or a homework
is assigned to a student – it stimulates self – learning in the student at self-pace. While doing
the homework, the student will reinforce his own skills, learns how to do his work in a timely
manner and learns time management as well. Kalenkoski & Pabilonia, (2017) aims to
understand if homework at high school level increases academic productivity and increases
academic performance in the high school students1. Transition to Adulthood Survey, Child
development Supplement and Income Dynamics study are the tools used by the study to
scrutinize and analyse the importance of grade points achieved at High School and factors

mistakes from the homework done by the student individually (which reflects his learning
level). Assigning the exact problem of the student is important to the teacher to guide him or
her in a personalized way. Doing the assignment and knowing one’s own problem is critical

(2017) aims to understand the effect of assigning homework in the improvement of academic
performance2. The researchers of this performs a meta analytic review. The study takes into
consideration – different types of home works based on different subject and its difficulty
level based on classes. The interests of student in a certain and a specific subject, plays a vital
role, in build-up of an academic performances the study gives mixed results – while in some
student, high amount of homework was seen as a positive stressor and helped in bettering the
