TASK 1
1.1) Review of group and individual communication need-
As a senior manager in NHS it is the part of my job to communicate with a range of
groups and individuals. I continuously change the use of my language according to target
audience. I meet daily with different people who respond effectively (Kadanoff, 2018). I am
accountable for sharing information among the professional and family members across a wide
range, so I need more effective communication skill to deliver my ideas and message. On the
daily basis I have to meet with team, leaders, staff members etc. It is quite difficult for me when
other business partner belongs to different countries or culture.
1.2) Use of effective communication for manager-
As a senior manager, it is important for me that I have to communicate with older
employees to develop strong and positive relationship and share meaningful message with
individuals using services. Good or effective communication attracts people towards me. It
makes my job easy and smooth. I am able to express my views and opinions with colleagues,
customers, business partner etc. As a manger it is my responsibility that I speak politely with my
employees which is more essential to accomplish organization goal. I communicate with clients
and employees directly, which is an effective way to deliver relative information. NHS is a
health care organization, so as a manager effective communication support me to do my job
properly.
1.3) Barriers and challenges in communication for manager-
Some barriers and challenges are below
Time- As a manager time is more important factor to complete goals. Sometime due to limited
time I can't communicate with staff properly.
Tools- Communication tool can be barriers for me if I don't know how to use it effectively. If I
use wrong medium to communicate with others, then it creates a wrong meaning and I can't
deliver clear message.
Biases-My internal biases can generally interfere with communication (Barriers to
Communication for Managers, 2017). It is important that I have to get myself aware about
problems in my communication with internal or external audiences.

Distractions- There are multiple distractions at my workplace. People – employees and clients-
phone calls. As a manager I pulled in many directions which may be a challenge to effective
communication.
2.2) Effectiveness of existing communication system and practices-
Communication is an important part of my job. As a manager it is my aim to exchange
information effectively and make strong relationship with individuals, clients or staff members.
It has different types oral, formal and informal. Formal occurs through the official channels and
show respect for others (Orna, 2017). Meetings, letters are the examples of this. Informal
communication may be productive or negative. It improves working relationships and create
ideas for goal achievement. It occurs when individuals know each other’s like family, friends or
peers.
3.2) Comparison of effectiveness of different communication system for partnership working-
According to my job as a senior manager in NHS, I believe that my communication
system and practices are more effective. I have to deal with different clients, colleagues,
employees at regular basis. I speak with them informally like face to face. I communicate on the
phones urgently when I am not in office. Formal discussion occurs through emails, meetings, at
supervision time etc. Direct communication makes clear meaning of my object. If business
partner living in other city or country, then all communication happens on telephones. They can
discuss issues and receive new referrals. Communication through the different medium is less
effective.
4.1) Legal and ethical tensions between maintaining confidentiality or information sharing-
As a senior manager I need to deliver clear instructions to subordinates and motivate
them to complete work on time with minimum wastages. I seek to write in a legal way if sharing
information with other organization (Popoola, 2017). The methods I employ are verbal, pictorial,
meaningful, signing. I have to follow business ethics during dealing with customers or other
professionals. It is the first condition of an agreement that it should be confidential. If this not
follow by anyone it creates stressful atmosphere at workplace.
4.2) Features of information sharing agreements within and between organization-
Within organization- As a manager I understand that certain information will need to be
share between staff. I like to discuss important subject with colleagues and management and
share information according to priority with relevant person.

Between Organization-Information share outside when company working with business
partners. Being a manager I share important information with partners through meetings or on
phones.
TASK 2
Changes-
As a senior manager of NHS I change my communication process not only inside but also
outside the organization (Stronge and Tucker, 2017). Before I used to share information on
phone which don't create clear message between me or clients. Now I deal with them directly to
share views or get effective results. It is a time or cost saving process.
