Introduction
This report includes the discussion about the communication barriers occurred in working
with the specific chosen client group. The chosen client group in this report includes Children.
As the several barriers occurred in the workplace while communicating with the Children as their
nature is different so that communication becomes different while working with Children. The
report will be discussed about the communication barriers occurred in communicating with
Children. The report will also be discussed about the skills that makes the communication
effective among the business. The personal experience regarding the communication barriers will
be included in this report.

Communication barriers in working with Children
The communication with children is too difficult as it creates several barriers in
communication. The communication deals with the severla barriers in working with the children.
The process of communication includes severla languages to express the several ideas (Chiu, et
al., 2015). I have analyzed that the severla child experiences problems in communicating with
others so they fall behind in school and face several struggles in their study and other activities.
The different type of barriers in communicating with children are discussed below-
 Cognitive Issues
The cognitive issues are created due to the lack of thinking skills that create different
problems which create the several issues like imagination, intellect, reasoning and
memory perception. The cognitive problems occurred due to the severla causes like brain
injuries and other important problems (Maguire, 2000). This process highly impacts the
overall process and create problems in working with the child as they have lack of
thinking skills.
 Language Issues
The lack of knowledge regarding language create communication problems like to analyse
the speech in a proper manner. The expressive language disorder creates severla problems for
a child while communicating. The other disorder is repetitive language disorder that create
difficulty for the child to understand the spelling used by themselves.
 Fluency Issues
Fluency defines the issues that refers to the ability of child to communicate with the
normal speech flow. The speech creates several fluency issues that includes various
hesitations. The example of fluency disorder is stuttering. The severla child faced this
problem and affect the overall working process.
 Voice Issues
The voice problems create many difficulties in the communication of children as it
directly affects the quality of the voice. This disorder lead to the different issues that

involves hoarseness, nasality and inappropriate volume. Voice disorders related to
phonation that affect the overall process of communication.
 Speech Issues
The speech problems known as articulation disorders. This affect the pronunciation of child.
The speech problems create several mistakes and affect the sound articulation. The
distortions s the process of pronouncing sounds that includes in the type of errors related to
the speech. The different physical issues also affect the overall problem of speech like cleft
palate, hearing loss and teeth problems.

Communication skills used for effectively communicating with Children
There are several communication skills that used for the effectively communicating with
Children. I have analyzed that the communication creates many problems and the skills are used
for managing the effective communication (Young and Rabiner, 2015). The effective
communication has the ability to solve the problems. The different skills used for effectively
communicating with children. Some of the skills are discussed below-
 Pick up on the emotion
When your child has noticeable emotion in their words and in their body language, the
several feelings need to attend (Austin and Pinkleton, 2015). The emotions are included
in the skills that manage the overall communication. The several reflective problems
affect many situations.
 Listen with your whole body
Analyze that child needs to talk and give them proper attention. Face them, make eye
contact, and fulfill the necessary of the child level.
 Delay correction and collect more information
The correction in language and more information affect the communication as it includes
in the skills and it create comforting responses. The collecting of information is one of
the main issues in the overall process.
 Try to see the situation by the child eyes
The situation needs to be analyse for making the communication better among child eyes.
Try to step into child’s frame before reacting on the situation. The child feelings and
acting affect the overall process.
 Encourage child to think about several solutions
The one should encourage the child to think about severla solutions. The encouragement
of child needs to think about severla solutions (Jackson, 2015). The severla options are
included in this process.

Applicable resources that assist the communication process
In assisting the communication process, the severla resources are used. These resources
create better communication and manage the overall communication process in a better
management. There are several resources that assist the communication process (Leask, et al.,
2012). The overall components of the communication are discussed as below-
 Context
The context greatly affects the communication and this context includes social and
cultural. Each and every communication include context. The sender adopts the message
to talk with a context.
 Message
The message is used to communicate in an effective manner (Coyne and Kirwan, 2012).
The communication functions include the decision of conveying the message. It needs to
be analyzed that this is one of the main objectives of message.
 Medium
The transmission and exchanging of information are done by medium. The sender adopts
the proper medium for transferring the message.
 Recipient/Decoder
This includes the person for whim the transmission of message is done.
 Feedback
It includes as essential part of communication that use to analyze the efficiency of
message.


From the above report, the several communication barriers have been analyzed as per my
experience. I have analyzed the different barriers of communication that affect the working with
children. The different aspects of message need to be delivered in the overall process. The
different barriers of communication create many difficulties in the communication. The different
skills of communication have been discussed in the above report. I have experienced that
different skills are used for managing the communication with the children. The various
resources that are used to manage communication has been discussed above.
