Introduction This is a reflective essay which is based my
nursing students at the home care centre. The
main objective of this reflection is to the
significance of communication and
interpersonal skills in the mental health
environment and the various factors which can
influence the success of multidisciplinary
teams. Mental health teams are generally
including psychiatrists, psychologists care
staff, nurses, social workers and specialist.
These all team members are involved in the
take care of particular patients. In the mental
health nursing having various needs which
required a variety of experts in order to meet
these needs in a effective manner. A group of
professional with different professional
training, working by more than one authority,
who meet regularly, co-ordinate with their task
providing services to one or more clients in a
defined area.
Specific tasks and responsibilities There are various roles and responsibilities
which required me to perform my task in a
effective manner as given below:
As a nurse it is important for them is to provide
total care to its patients and helping hem to
prevention his illness. And these care are given
to them according to its requirements and also

consider its cultural and religion aspects.
A nurse also having the ability to decision
making which are required to critical thinking
skills. Effective communication in the
healthcare system can improve outcomes in the
healthcare environment. If the communication
is not effective, the healing process will be
inhibited. Nurses play an integral role in the
management of care. The objective of
management is to ensure that the care afforded
to the patient is cohesive. It is their
responsibility to coordinate care provided by
the various players to ensure that all the needs
of the patient are being met. This role has been
described as the most important of the nursing
roles. This role entails protecting the rights of
the patient. For instance, when a patient is sick,
they are unable to act as they normally would.
Effective interpersonal There are various interpersonal skills are
required me in order to provide patients
satisfaction. Nursing is a very stressful job
which required a strong interpersonal and
communication skills to handle my patients in
a effective manner. Therefore I required a good
knowledge in medical which can help to make
me more confident in order to deal medical
issues. For this I required training and
development which can help to improve my
own skills and knowledge and improve

performance in the field of medical. Another
competencies is related with the
communication. Listening which is essential
ability to listen carefully my clients.
Communication both spoken and written, is
paramount when it comes to taking in
information and passing it along to the
necessary parties. various times, the situation is
a high stress situation and communication may
be the dividing line between life and death.
Sense of humor is a must when working in the
nursing industry. It is the one outlet to relieve
tension and stress that is part of being a nurse
and humor serves as the vehicle to get over a
speed bump disguised as tragedy.
Conclusion So in order for modern Nursing as a service to
humans to realize the project, there is a need
for dialogue and a good interpersonal climate
that develops personally with each sick person,
especially in our modern multicultural society.
The best expertise training and continuing
education of nurses in matters relating to the
proper technique of communication will enable
them to respond adequately and humanely to
the expectations of patients.
