INTRODUCTION
Knowledge and creativity are very necessary for the development of the person
in working within any type of company or performing any of the task. This is majorly
because of the reason that there are many changes which takes place within the
business environment which needs to be taken care of and to be communicated to the
relevant person (Tang and Ye, 2015). Therefore, for every task to be successful the
most important thing is communication.
The present reflection will outline the experience of the Customer Relation
manager of ASDA company and how it helped in improving the performance of the
company. This is because of the reason that effective communication is the key of
success for the company. the present reflection will be written with help Driscoll model
of reflection which is based on the three question to be answered during an
experimental learning cycle namely what? So, What? and Now What?
PART A
Experience of effective communication
The effective communication is the only success factor which helps the company
in achieving the success. I am the customer relationship manager in ASDA and is
performing my duty in correct and accurate way. Under this role the work performed by
me is managing and maintaining the relation with the consumers, handling their queries,
solving all their issues and keeping the consumers updated with all the changes taking
place within the product and services of the company.
Thus, in this role the most important thing for me is to focus on the
communication with the consumers. The underlying reason behind this fact is that I am
the one person with whom the consumers can interact directly and because of this
reason the company wants me to be very efficient in communication. Also, because of
one experience I learnt the importance of communication within the workplace.
According to the first stage of the model that is what the case is once the
consumer came to me and shared their feedback relating to the clothes by the
company. the consumer shared that they were not satisfied with the product of the
company. this was because of the reason that the quality of the dress was not very
good and this discomforted the consumers. With this complaint the consumer came to

me as I was the customer relation manager (Wang, Liu and Cai, 2019). The consumer
discussed the problem with me but due to more work I forgot to communicate this
information further to the operations department. And because of this lack of
communication the company suffered a loss.
Another stage of the Driscoll model that is so what reflects the following part.
This was because of the reason that with this one information which was not
communicated made a very huge difference for the company. This is because of the
fact that I didn’t communicated this information with the operation department. This
communication was very necessary because of the reason that operations is the
department which produces the goods and services of the company. If the operation
department is not knowing the problem of the consumers ten how they will solve the
problem of the company. Also, this lack of communication posed problem for the
operation department also as if they would have known the problem then they could
have shared this problem with the research and development department of ASDA. The
major reason underlying this fact is that the research department is the one which is
responsible for researching the best quality of raw materials for the operations
department.
The last stage of Driscoll model that is Now what states that now I should focus
on my communication skills. This is majorly because of the reason that with this incident
I learnt the importance of the communication in improving or reducing the efficiency and
performance of the company. This was because of the reason that if I had
communicated the information on time then the operation department would have
communicated the information to the research and development department which
would have provided with different quality options to the operation department for
producing the products (Sánchez-Moral, Bontje and Musterd, 2018). And ultimately the
quality of the goods would have enhanced and this would have resulted in increase in
sales of company. With this incident it was clear that effective communication helps in
improving the performance of the individual as well as the overall business.

Reflection on working and communicating in professional way
With the above incident I learnt that form working in a professional world the
communication is very essential for the person as well as for the overall company. This
is due to the fact that without communication no work can be done in correct and proper
way. This is because of the reason that communication is defined as the exchange of
the information from one person to another person. This is very necessary for a
successful career in the professional world.
With this incident I learnt that because of lack of communication I as well as the
company faced a lot of loss because the need of the consumer was not fulfilled and this
decreased the sales of the company. Also, personally I felt very bad as all this
happened because of me as I was not able to communicate the information to the
further department which were needing the information. and this resulted in loss for the
company. Thus, in the end I learnt that communication is the only way of surviving
within the professional or the business world.
CONCLUSION
From the above reflection it can be concluded that communication is the only
source of success for the company as well as the employees working within the
business. This is due to the fact that without communication no work can be done as
nobody will communicate to other person then how the work will be delegated within the
business and how the work will take place. Thus, for the ultimate success the company
must focus on the effective communication.
