Communication is the process of delivering information
from one person to another. Effective communication helps
in improving employee’s relations. This report is about the
hospitality company name Mr. Fishy which fish and chips.
Due to Brexit relation among British and non-British have
become tense. So communication is the key aspect to
encourage employees for better performance. This report
covers challenges and barriers to overcome these barriers.
Further it covers awareness of culture and influence on the
employees.
LO2 Identify challenges and barriers to effective
communication
There are various challenges face by the organisation while
communicating throughout the world on daily basis. Here
are some challenges which are explained below:
Reacting and Responding: At the work place, employees
receive new and react negatively (O'Rourke, J.S., 2019). So
in this case Mr. Fishy manager can communicate with
employees so be calm and listen to the what manger and
respond after thinking. This reduce the conflict and chaos so
that among employees can perform their activity effectively.
Lack of feedback: This is consider as one of the most
important challenges to overcome. For Mr. Fishy, in order to
reduce the tension due to Brexit manager must take proper
feedback from the employees so that management can find
the cause and make changes for healthy environment.
Barriers to effective communication
Language barriers: Some time language become barrier and
it is not understood by employees (Maltseva 2019). So
manager of Mr. Fishy should avoid jargon's and abbreviation
so employees can understand the conversation effectively.
Physiological barrier: This barrier refers to the physical state.
Hence, Mr. Fishy manager must assure that there is no noise
and interruption during conveying message in order to reduce
the physiological barrier in the organisation.
L03 Strategies for overcoming barriers
Clarity of thoughts: Individual must be clear about the
objective and goals. Mr. Fishy manager must have clarity
about message and communicate effectively with the
employees (Lordkipanidze, R., 2019). There must be
systematic communication to reduce misunderstanding and
conflict among employees.
Understand the audience: It is important to know who is the
audience (Kwilinski and et., al., 2019). In the context of Mr.
Fishy must understand about the audience to whom message
is convey. There is different level of message express to
employees to motivate them and while meeting with top level
manges have to commutate softly.
Feedback from the receiver: There must be two-way
communication and manager should take feedback from
employees so the organisation can understand the real
problem of conflict. This will help to minimize the conflict
among births employees as well as non-British employees.
LO6 Awareness of cultural influences on communication
The effect of culture on communication as well as on
negotiation can be generated among organisation within different
culture. As different culture and background people speak different
languages. So it is the responsibility of management like Mr. Fishy
to spread awareness regarding the culture and also promote the
different culture by taking sessions on culture diversification.
This method helps people to single platform where employees can
understand the important of culture precisely (Fahlgren, and et., al.,
2019). As it become important nowadays in organisation to have
employees from various country due to globalization. So employees
must healthy relationship within department with the effective
communication.
Conclusion
From the above report it has been concluded that, communication
plays a vital role in organisation which leads towards success and
growth. Further, managers should use effective communication
process to reduce conflict. Along with this, culture have is its own
importance in communication which help in making good and positive
environment in organisation.
