This report covers the use of effective communication skills with young age group.
The young age group involves the people between age of 18 to 35 years. It is true that
difficult is faced while communicating with people of different age group. Thus this report
helped to know the barriers faced and way to overcome the barriers to have effective
communication is listed.
Effective communication
Effective communication skills is necessary for every age group as it is needed to
share the thoughts, ideas and create a strong understanding between two parties. The effective
communication is important as it make sure that it will contribute in sustainable success in
every field. While communicating with the young people it is important to have a healthy
conversation (Buckingham, 2015). It is important to have an effective communication with
the young people as they are in the stage of development. Thus they generally learn from the
things they listen and watch. If effective communication is carried with the young generation,
it will help them in developing the skill quickly. Communicating effectively with the young
people is desirable as it provide additional responsibility.
Barriers in working with the young people
There are various barriers that are faced while communicating with the young people
as they have different perception and view point. Apart from that there exist various
emotional barriers that cause difficulty in understanding their thoughts. The young people
need to be managed with effective communication skills as they have short tempted and are
not mature to deal with the situation. There are barriers due to attitude behaviours results in
conflicts due to diffident perceptions (Wordpress, 2016). Thus effective communication is
necessary to remove the barriers and they ensure that the thoughts and ideas could easily be
expressed between them. Some of the barriers that exist while communicating with the young
people are interruptions and distractions that results in poor interest regarding the discussion.
It is important to have effective communication with the young people as they have the habit
of jumping towards the conclusion directly. It is stated that to have an effective
communication various activities need to be designed to keep young generation engaged
while making decisions. Effective communication helps in understanding the skills that are
required to communicate with child and understand their feeling.

that trust could be built. The young people should not be treated as young or stupid and no

from that it should be an open communication. The openness in the communication helps

boundaries should be maintained so that the communication does not become offensive.
