According to the article entitled “5 Habits of Highly Effective Communicators” by
Tardanico (2012), communication is one of the major factors that affect the leadership within the
organization. The article is majorly focused on the discussion of the key communicational
measures that are undertaken by the effective leaders across various business concerns operating
in the international markets as would be helpful for the future leaders in business organizations.
The author remarks that the majority of the effective leaders within the organization should
maintain a close and identical relationship between their words and actions. The claim of the
author might be considered to be highly true and appropriate in the maintenance of the proper
leadership within the given business organizations. The followers within the given organizations
are observed to have been advancing in resemblance with the activities and the path that is shed
light on by the leaders. I feel that in order to put forth a proper progression of the entire
organization, the leaders should practice whatever they preach. The author further remarks on
the fact that the leaders practice the skills of listening to the followers. The proper listening on
the part of the leaders help in the understanding of the issues and the improvement areas that are
pointed out by the followers as well as the other staff of the organization. The majority of the
organizational issues might be resoled through demonstration of listening skills by the
organizational leader. I feel that the implementation of the listening skills by the leaders would
help in the progress of employee engagement within the organization thereby leading to the gain
of competitive edge of the company. Thus, it might be concluded that the communication within
the workplace is necessary for the smooth functioning of the business concern in the given
environments.
