INTRODUCTION
Management is the process of managing people and resources in organization to
accomplish goal of the company (Hayton, 2015). Managers need to do planning, controlling and
monitoring activities of entities in order to meet with the goal. Present study will discuss future
leadership requirements of CU London in order improve performance of business. Furthermore,
it will describe effectiveness of management skills and impact of communication within
managerial context.
TASK
Effective management skills
Leadership is the capability of an individual to motivate, influence and lead the team.
Managers and Leaders play significant role in the corporation, their decision and skills support
the firm in achieving goal of an entity (Certo, 2015). It is essential that leader or manager of CU
London needs to have skills: Communication skill: It is considered as one of the most essential skills of manager.
With the help of impressive coordination skill individual can be able to make others
aware with their responsibilities. This can support in understanding their needs and
minimizing confusions in the workplace. Communication skill of Manager of CU London
will be support in communicating necessary information from one department to others
easily and improving operations of the business (Hall and et.al, 2014). Motivational skills: It is another managerial skill that can support the firm in
accomplishing its objective soon. When people work monotonously then they need
encouragement that can boost them. Motivational skill of a manager will aid in
encouraging others and making them positive towards the CU London. By this way
people will perform their duties well and they will put their best efforts to accomplish
goal of the company (Mujtaba, 2013). In the absence of motivational skill, manager will
not be able to retain skilled employees in the university for longer duration by this way
performance of the organization may get down. Innovation skill: Creativity is the life blood of any business. If there is no innovation
then firm can not be able to compete in the recent era and will not be able to accomplish
its goal significantly. Through innovation manager of CU London will be able to make
the operation more effective. This will support cited firm in gaining success and

sustaining in the market for longer duration (Hayton, 2015). Change is necessary in any
entity, ability to innovation can support in bringing necessary changes in the CU London
which will help the cited firm in meeting with its real objective. Effective leader and
manager need to be ready to adopt innovative and creative approaches in order to meet
demand of ever changing environment.
Risk management skills: It is another ability that need to have in future manager of CU
London. Uncertainties can take place in business any time. For that it is essential that
manager should have risk management and risk taking skills (Hall and et.al, 2014).
Individual needs to forecast future properly and have to build a contingency plan so that
risk can be manager effectively. With the help of this skills individual will be able to
minimize issues in the company and will be able to improve its performance.
Importance of leadership skills
Motivation- Leadership skills are important to motivate the members of CU London. It is
necessary for making the students work hard. This will lead the individuals to have
development and growth in their skills and knowledge (Johnson, McMorris and Scal,
2014). They will work better after being motivated.
Discipline- These skills are important to make disciplined behaviour between the
workers. Employees will have to listen to their leaders which will keep them in discipline
in the premises of university. There are many persons who do not listen to anyone.
Leadership skills will keep them in check.
Inspiration- Leaders are the person who can provide inspiration to others by their
leadership skills. They take responsibilities of taking risks or the task which inspire the
other members to be like them (Importance of leadership skills, 2017). Those persons
will also work hard in the direction of making their leadership skills developed.
Responsible behaviour- Leadership skills increases the sense of responsibility in the
person. They will take responsibilities to work will try to complete it with efficiency.
This will make the leader to have further development in CU London.
Fast decisions- These skills makes the person to take fast decisions according to the
situations. Leaders do not wait for someone to come and solve problem (Lorentz and

et.al, 2015). They take quick decisions whenever the problematic situation or condition
arises.
All the workers within the business may not be able to accept the changes and so it is
important to have effective leadership skills so that employees are able to understand main
reason due to which changes are important. In this context, all the workers should be conveyed at
the initial stage regarding the changes that they are willing to implement (Powers, Jennings and
DeCarlo, 2014). This way, workers are able to accept the changes in positive manner. In all this
process, it is important that management have people with leadership skills so that they are able
to influence all the workers so that they can be boosted up towards the roles that have to be
played by them. Further, it is important for then business that they adopt appropriate strategies
that they can analyse the situation and appropriate plan is made with the help of which the
business is able to attain their goals and objectives.
Leadership is developed within the employees when they have proper understanding
about the set of roles and responsibilities that has to be played by them. Further, it is important
that they are proper knowledge about the objectives and goals that are developed by the business.
When they understand the requirement of business, then they are able to develop path on which
it can be achieved. Further, a leader should be able to determine the issues that are each of the
employee face in the organization. Employees are the one who have interaction with customers,
when they fail to perform their role in effective manner, then it has negative impact over the
business. It requires the leaders to have strong interact with each other so that they are able to
guide, direct and motivate them in effective manner.
Leadership can be applied when all the employees support the business to grow. This is
possible when management take up initiatives to solve the issues that are faced by them. When
employees are able to develop trust, then employees put on their full efforts so that they are able
to attain their objectives in effective manner. In addition to this, leaders should know the type of
skills and capabilities that each of the worker possess so that they can divide the roles and
responsibilities accordingly. Further, to be a leader, it is possible to understand the requirement
and steps are taken by management for their growth and develop of the employees.
Measures to improve leadership skills
There are many measures by which the leadership skills can be improved. Hard work is
essential to make skills of a leader better.

Taking responsibilities- Leaders should take responsibilities in their hands to perform
some task which will improve their leadership skills in the future.
Be positive- A person should get afraid from the bad situations. He/ she should
confidently fight with those situations (Anna Lebedeva, 2015). Person should be calm
and be positive at every level of life. Positiveness will increase and enhance their
leadership skills.
Think before making decision- For being the leader a person should think before making
decisions. Proper analysis of situation is necessary to make the bad situation better in CU
London.
Methods used for communication
Notice- Notice about the information can be given to all the members for communicating
new nominated leader.
Announcement- Announcement can be done to give informations.
Personal interaction- Senior members can personally interact with members to give them
information.
These are some methods of communication which can be used in organization to give
information to members like representatives, academic staffs, students representatives, IT
supports etc.
CONCLUSION
This report includes about the various leadership skills which are needed in the CU
London. There are many importances of these skills because it makes the effective and efficient
leader. Leadership skills are needed at every level of the company and can be used in many ways
to make the organization further developed. There are many ways which can improve the
leadership skills in the leader. The nomination of the new leader should be communicated to all
the members in the company. Those members are of all the levels who should get information.
Many ways can be adopted to communicate with workers or members. This report concludes that
leadership skill are very important to make the institute grow and be more reputed among their
competitors. Leaders should work hard to improve these skills and increase their growth.
