INTRODUCTION
Reflective journals are effective writing which helps the person in exploring own learning
and experience. The present reflective will done with the help of DIEP framework where the
person will explore own learning over unit to become effective manager in globalised world.

Description
I read HRM in changing organizational contexts by Johnson and Szamosi, 2018, which
was based on management and different practices followed by manager for managing success in
internal practices of organisation to deal with globalization. I explored different aspect of units
helped in gaining knowledge over various classification of management like organisation
behaviour, interdisciplinary influences, cultural dimension by Hofstede which play a crucial role
when managing business across international boundaries. I feel learning managerial values and
basic concerns will help me in becoming effective manager in globalised world.
Interpretation
The article by Deresky, 2017, highlighted OB play crucial role in developing management
because it helped me in understand employee behaviours as an individual and group dynamic of
an enterprise. As a learner I felt my continuous involvement in unit was beneficial for boosting
understanding but my learning is completely based on different articles and books which helped

me gaining knowledge over management and its classification. I learned about globalization and
its influence on decision making process of managers from where I examined that it is essential
for managing professional to make business decision by considering global environment of
business, which is influenced by various factors like, culture, ethics, beliefs, norms, etc.
(Deresky, 2017).
Evaluation
Reading unit and different article I evaluated different management functions helped me
gaining insights over all managerial responsibilities like, planning, controlling, organising and
leading. Similarly, I analysed the importance of firm as open system which is based on three
aspects that is input, task environment and output. Apart from this, learning over element of
cultural differences which needs to implied when managing business functions at global level
transformed my experience. The dimension of cultural compass by Hofstede consist of
Individualism v\s collectivism, high and low power distance, high and low uncertainty
avoidance, femininity v\s masculinity and long and short term orientation (Beugelsdijk, Kostova
and Roth, 2017) This dimension compass helped in gaining insight over different dimension
which helps in evaluating cultural differences of two countries.
Developing understanding over entire unit helped me in boosting my organisational
capabilities because I explored work-related differences of 10 countries which will assist me in
effective management of business at global level. I feel learning from different literature helped
me in examining 5 personality traits that is extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness,
openness to experience and emotional stability which play crucial role in managing success
business practices across international boundaries.
Plan
According to me it is important for people to plan changes after understanding own skills
that which can be done with the help of VARK learning styles. On the basis of this tool, I will
score myself from 1 to 10 stands for Visual (5), Aural (4), Read/write (6), and Kinaesthetic (7)
sensory. Thus, in my opinion I am a good learner and grabbed all the necessary information
which helps me in becoming effective managing at global level for which I will incorporate my
learning over personality traits, motivation, OB, managerial functions and scores of cultural
dimensions.
