Two most significant social or health issues impacting individual clients and the broader
Australian community
One of the major issue is the lack of ability of the health car services’ sector to
manage proper health and wellbeing of the population group that has been ageing. Due to
this, the health related issue pose to be a serious social challenge as well for the Australian
Government and also the Australian community (Baum et al., 2013). The major issue could
be due to the lack of efforts put by the Australian Government to make changes to the
medical and health care services system because of certain budgetary aspects and even
because of the political factors. The lack of fundamental structures and cross stakeholder
links are also related to the integration of medical and health research plans along with the
poor management of strategic goals while allocating the scarce resources and funds during a
research (McLachlan, Gilfillan & Gordon, 2013). It is also a major social issue that there are
equity issues and health inequalities, due to which, the ageing population are considered as
less affluent and get lesser treatment when compared to the people, who are affluent.
The major health issue could be the rising rate of obesity within the Australian
community, because of the issues resulting from poor access to fresh and healthy foods,
which has made people look out for unhealthy snacks and other food items. The consumption
of these food items and even skipping out on healthy food items have led to the increased
level of obesity and this problem tends to a major problem, as experienced by many people
within the Australian community (Tanamas et al., 2014). Moreover, this issue could also be
related to cardiovascular diseases and other significant health problems. Therefore, these are
the social and health issues that have impacted the elderly clients and the Australian
community.
