Starting a business is not an easy thing, but many people successfully open and run their
business. There are many things involved behind opening a business successfully. Before starting
a new business raising fund, doing market investigation and emerging a realistic business plan is
essential. Many authors are of the view that doing this researches before opening a business
improves the possibility of success of a business (Kellermanns et al., 2016).
Whenever questions asked regarding which resources are essential to start a business,
almost every entrepreneur replied that money or capital is the foremost essential requirement.
However, money is not the only requirement, the other requirements include physical resources,
human resources and financial resources (Raddats, Burton & Ashman, (2015). The resources are
discussed below:
Financial Resources: The foremost element to start a business is capital. In fact, the home
based businesses also incur a startup cost inclusive of registering the business name,
obtaining a telephone connection, printing cards of business. Business funds can be raised
from different sources, such as personal savings of the entrepreneur, loans from private
banks, financial institutions, friends and family, government aids, by selling shares to the
shareholders in case of private companies.
Human resources: After money, the second vital element is employees. Many authors are
of the view that the success of an organization depends upon the talent and skills of an
employee. It is important to employ skilled and efficient employees and market experts.
Physical resources: To run a business, physical resources are necessary which includes
raw materials, premises, transportation, equipment and facility of storage.

For instance, to produce hand bags, an owner needs a workplace, machines for stitching bags,
raw materials (zip, fabric, and thread), workers to manage the equipment and finally money to
run the organization smoothly.
