INTRODUCTION
Study skills are important for a students for effective learning as it allow them to focus on
learning and development opportunity and provide success to a person in order to develop career
(Aisyah, 2019). There are different types of study skills including time management,
commitment, ability to work in independent manner, responsibility, listening skills, team
working skills, critical thinking and many more. This project report includes identification of
different skills which are taught in university for a specific course. It also includes important of
these skills in order to build career in University.
TASK
There are different skills to be required by a student university. These skills are important for
them to development as it boost their confidence and allow them to gain their knowledge. Some
of these skills essential for students are mentioned below:
Time management: Time management refers to a process of organising and planning in which a
person spend their time on different activities. It allow an individual to complete more work in
less time, with less stress and also leads to career success (Elfeky, 2018). It provide various
benefits to a leader who is studying at university as it improve their efficiency of work and also
improve their productivity of completing work. It reduce level of stress on a person and provide
them opportunity to get success. In time management skills, students needs to made schedule of
different activity and also to do list which helps them to avoid stress of work and allow them to
complete work on time. It provide student with more time as they are able to saves time on non
productive work and also helps to manage time in a effective manner. It provide more
opportunity to people in their life as it does not allow them to waste time on non prodcitvitity
activities.
Team work: Team work refers to collaborative efforts to a group of people in order to attain
common goals and for completing work in effective ans efficient manner. It is a important
concept for a students in order to study at university and also helps them to build good career
opportunity (Halberstadt, 2019). It is important for successfully completing of education for a
person and also for development lifelong career. There are different projects and assessment are
assign by teachers and professor which are to be completed by individual in a team. For this,
they needs to develop team working skills and also it is required by workplace. It helps a person

for completing a work in efficient manner. It also helps a person for improving quality of their
work as it consist self monitoring of team members. Team work include different members for
completion of work, it helps to develop more and more innovative ideas among individual and
also helps them for purpose of develop innovative ideas for completion of work. It leads students
to learn about how to coordinate with another person for purpose of completion of work.
Listening skills: Listening is one of important skills which is considered as ability to receive and
interpret messages in a process of communication. It is key to effective communication and
without this ability, message cannot be understood by a person in clear manner (Hämäläinen,
2019). It results in break down of communication process and leads to misunderstanding.
Listening skills provide various benefits to learner as it improve learning of a person also also
develop different academic and social skills in a person. Listening skills is important for students
in order to improve communication skills as in educational stetting, students interact with
professor and these professor sharer new ideas, thoughts and question to students. Student needs
to listen these and learn how to speak in front of people and also prepare themselves for public
speaking. It helps students to complete task on time as this skills allow them to listen instruction
of teachers clearly which allow them to complete work on time. This skills also improve
academic understanding of a person and also helps them to made interpersonal connections
which are important while finding out good employment opportunity.
Stress management: Stress management refers to a technique which is aim at controlling of
level of stress of a person that is for motivate of improving functioning. Stress is a part of being
human and its motivate a person to complete a work (Hämäläinen, 2019). But high stress create
negative impact on quality of work of a person and also does not allow them to complete work in
effective manner. There are various reason of stress in life of a students including finances,
living among stranger, social obligation and many more. Stress management helps students to
break hold of stress in their life and make them more productive, happier, healthier. Main aim of
this is to maintain balance in life, allow them to completer wok on time, have fun, relationship
and relaxation. It helps them to meet challenges in life and also important or a person to improve
quality of work.
Decision Making: Decision making can be defined as process of making choice with
identification of decision, gathering different information and assessment of different alternative
solutions (Yeh, 2021). It consist different steps which helps a students to make more deliberate

decision in their life with gathering more authentic information and also increase chances of
making right decision. It is one of skills which play important role in life of a student as it divert
student from falling in trap of problems. It helps student to learn self determination which helps a
students to enhance values, gain more experience and also learn from different outcomes and
experiences. It helps students to overcome of learning disabilities with acknowledging different
resources. It helps students to understand strength and weakness and also helps them to socialise
their skills.
IT skills: Information and technology skill is a technical skills which is required by a students in
order to make them self effective at workplace to provide technical support, development and
maintenance (Melnychuk, 2019). IT skills are important for purpose of make a person
technically able and efficient. It is one of important skills in today's time as business are using
advance technology and in order to find out good job opportunity, a person needs to develop
technical ability. It boost confidence of a person and also increase their productivity of work. It
helps a student to work smarter instead of harder. It is important as it allow a person to complete
a work in lesser time. With development of this skills, students can successfully complete skills.
They are able to study with using different online and technology based resources which make
them more efficient and improving their capability.
Social networking: Social networking skills are those which allow a person to interact with
other person and develop social network. Networking allow a person to exchanges ideas,
information with different group members and individual for purpose of shared interest, long tern
relationship and many other things (Whalen, 2021). It is the ability which allow a person to make
contact and adding their personal relationship. It is important for a student in order to identifying
good employment opportunity, networking skills and also getting growth. It is important in order
to enhance knowledge of a person and also provide them various opportunity in life. It is
essential for a student while studying at university as it helps them to make contact with seniors
which will helps them to get notes and other study material from them.
Communication Skills: Communication is also a important skills for a person as it allow them
to offer and receive different types of information. It helps a person to listen, speak, observe and
empathise in a good manner (Nguyễn, 2017). Students while studying at university require more
and more practical knowledge. For better learning, it is important for them to raise question in
class from teaches and discuss their doubts. Student often do not raise question due to hesitation

and lack of confident but communication skills make hem confident about asking question from
teachers which improve their learning. It also make a person more liable to be friendly with
others as a person require support from family and friend. While study at University, a person
needs to be friendly with others which helps them to get support (Tseng, 2019). Communication
not only consist oral communication but also includes written communication. Written
communication is also required by a person while study as there are different types of
assignments are assign by teachers to students and in order to get good grades, they needs to
learn effective written skills. It also provide them good grades in examination which is important
in order to build good career opportunity.
Commitment: Commitment to work refers to level of enthusiasm posses by a person towards
completion of work. It provide sense of responsibility to them towards attainment of their goals.
It is important for a student for completion of study successfully and also to complete different
assignment to be conducted at work (Suleman, 2018). In order to develop commitment a person
needs to be focused towards their goals. It allow them to get good grades in examination,
develop necessary skills, improve knowledge and learning ability of a person. It improve their
reputation in minds of teachers as they complete work on time. Due to this, they are able to get
various opportunity in their academic life.
Critical thinking skill: Critical thinking refers to an analysis of different facts in order to form a
judgement. It is a complex subject and also consist different definition which guide ration,
unbiased and skeptical analysis. Critical thinking helps students to solve different problems
occur in their academic life and also build strategies in order to overcome of these problems.
Student critically think in order to determine particular situation and also allow them to practice
critical thinking, connect different ideas, evaluate and scrutinise different argument, finding
inconsistencies and efforts in work and also to solve various problems. It enhance their creativity
and curiosity. It promote self reflection and self assertion in life of a person and also boost their
prospects. It helps to solve problems occur in life of a person and also helps them to forstered
different life skills.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that study skills for higher education is
important in life of a person. It is essential in order to successfully completion their education
and also allow them to grab various opportunities occur at university. There are different skills

which is required by a person including communication skill, listening skill, critical thinking
skill, commitment, social networking, IT skills and many more.
