Effective team are team that work together to achieve the specific team goals and objectives to fulfil the target
of company. Building the effective team styles for organisation plays important part in success of firm and in
the company Asda this will facilitates in accomplishing its mission. The role and qualities of team leader is as
necessary to direct and guide the team members and they use certain leadership style to achieve the target in
team.
1.1 Discuss the qualities of effective team
Effective team refers to group of people who work together to achieve the common goals and make it
successful. It include the ability to set aside personal produces and completion of task is necessary as it remain
competitive and people used to work closely and collaborate effectively. In the Company Asda, the importance
of effective team is important and will be very useful to accomplish the task. Following are the characteristics
of effective team are as follows-
1. Clear goal- It is importance for every team to measure the purpose and objectives and every team
member knows the reason of its existence. The realization and communicate the team goals and

The role and qualities of team leader in the company is important where the success of team depends
on the leader.
In the company the main role of leader is essential as it defines the task and objectives and some of role of
leader as as follows-
Visionary- Team leader must know the vision and mission of team and accordingly set the direction
and objectives of organisation that will facilitates the accomplishment of task.
Decision- maker- The role of team leader is to decide the function that what and when the decision
needs to be taken so that it will able to take decision in tough time. In the company, this will develop
the effectiveness in company and create the proper decision making process.
Bring initiative in team- This refers to try his level best to break the ice and discuss the issue apart
from the work and more freely and organise certain activities to strengthen the bond among
employees. In the company this ensure the to bring the best output from its team members and
facilitates in brainstorming in effective team.
2.2 Analysed different leadership styles
There are different leadership style in organisation which is adopted by leader to direct the team according to
the size, nature of company and will be useful in maintaining the effectiveness of organisation. This depends on
the choice of leader where it fully able to fulfil the desired objectives. Some of leadership are as follows-
Democratic style- These leaders are likely to ask the information from the employees anything about
that affect their responsibility of work. They seek for the approval from them before taking decision
for company and promote spirit. In the company this will facilitates the employees to take active
participate in organisation decision policies and develop the creativity in team.
Affiliative Style- This type leader consider the emoticon of employees first and get up close and
personal with people and pay attention to needs of team members. In the company, this leader will
