Introduction
The term time management is used to refer to the ability of a person that allows him to
use its time in the optimum manner. Here optimum way for utilization of time is putting the time
available with oneself in effective and productive actions that make the work or task that has to
be done being completed in time meeting the deadline. As the Effective management of time is
very crucial for the students because they have to perform many task and learn many things in
this phase (Jia, 2018). Time management is important in doing any type of work whether it is
small or big every activity requires proper time management for the efficiency in the work. The
report will discuss the importance of time management. Further this report will include
effectiveness of time with own reflection in academic performances and their importance in the
students life. This report will also include preparation of personal learning and development plan
with reflection of all the objectives and the activities or resources required to achieve those
objectives.
Effective management of time
Effective management is important in every field of success because without effective and
efficient time management in the academics the students cannot accomplish their task on time.
Effective time management helps student to complete its task in less time with full accuracy
(Aslan,2021). I learned from My past experiences that My time management skills were not
good due to I am not able to manage all the activities with My time management skills. I always
got late in My classes due to waking late in the morning, or not able to manage My personal and
professional life on time, and many skills like coordination, team working, leadership and
decision making skills are lacking due to poor time management skills. I cannot take frequent
decisions on time or coordination of My all work is also decreasing due to doing all the work
with inappropriate timing.
Then I decided to overcome all this problems by scheduling My time By using ABC
method by arranging My time on those activities which are important and which are not (Jane,
2018). I arranged My time into 3 categories A- Must do in which I strictly gave time to those
things which are most important to me like studies, learning, fitness, etc the I applied category B-
Should do In this I arranged all My activities like which I need to do for My improvements like
sleeping on time, improving communication skills and other skills too. The lastly I arranged C-

ways for others too so that it helps me in My higher academic performances and future. This
helps to reduce My stress and work burdens and also boost My confidence for doing the task
perfectly. I prepared a personal development plan from my past and present learning and decided
various strategies to achieve it.
Importance of time management
Less Stress: There are a number of benefits that comes with the effective time management.
Time management is all about keeping the time managed, doing things timely. When everything
is previously planned and all the tasks are done in accordance with the decided manner and
considering the time allotted for each part of the task the stress is reduced. The task that has to be
done becomes stressful when the deadline is near and everything seems to be impossible to
complete on time (Murphy, Malenczak and Ghajar, 2019). With effective time management task
is done on time and hence it chances for having stress are minimal.
Better work-life balance: Time management promotes a good balance in work life. The balance
between the professional life and personal life of an individual. Giving too much time at work
adversely affects the personal life and relationships with family and friends. Spending too much
time with family and related matters affects the work life negatively. So a better balance between
the work and personal life necessitates the ability in an individual to manage time between
personal and professional life (Fung, Abdullah and Hashim, 2021). Thus effective time
management has the importance of maintaining this balance.

Greater focus: Every task is performed by allotment of fair time to each division of the task.
When every part of the task is done by taking enough time the focus area of each division is
maximum. This gives the benefit of greater levels of focus during the performance of task.
Higher levels of productivity: The skills of managing the time effectively increases the
productivity of the performer of the task. Time management skills are concerned with the
productive use of time and minimizing the wastage of time (Hurst, 2020). When the time is
utilized productively the individual can do more in the given deadline thus the productivity
increases. Increased level of productivity further ensures that the work at workplace is appraised
by the seniors.
Further with the analysis it can be stated that time management is also very important in
order to reduce the procrastination. The procrastination occurs when the person is not able to
manage the time. In case person is having proper time management skills then the

to manage all the work on time or before time then this motivate them and increases their energy
level. Along with this when person is in position to complete their objectives on time then this
increases the enthusiasm of the person and improves the level of working in efficiency as well.
In addition to this another crucial importance relating to time management is that when the
student is in position to implement the time management strategies an effective manner then this
provides additional time to think. This is very important because when the person isn't position
to analyse things being done and whether they are in right direction or not then there is ample of
time with the student in order to ensure that all the work being done is correct and in the required
manner. Also in case student completes that task before the deadline then they have enough time
to check whether all the requirement of the project has been met correctly or not. In case there
will be any changes then it will be implemented on time before the submission.
