PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am kind of person who believes in researching and exploring different studies one topic
and it is the reason why I switched from hotels management learning to Computing. I feel
computing is the source which have become common in era and has assisted the society, schools
and colleges and managing their all time of work with one click. Further, when I was learning
hospitality management during my Masters I realized that it is important to explore learning in
different fields because it is strategy which helps in personal development. Moreover, the
computing course will help me in developing my knowledge about different software which are
specifically used in school and colleges for enhancing knowledge of student. According, to
knowledge over computing I feel it is an important source which helps in boosting knowledge of
students over the practicality of life. It makes work and processing of various information easy
such as calculation, information grammatical error, spelling errors, formatting, structuring. These
are basics of computing work which helps in boosting learning of students. I want to explore
knowledge about use of computers in various fields such as shopping, communication, filing of
interest and taxes etc. According to my past learning experience in hospitality management I
realized that I am a practical learner and therefore I need to alter my learning plans and therefore
I choose for PHD in computing.
Computers plays integral role in education system of schools and colleges and according
to many educators computing has assisted in improving education outcomes as it enable better
and positive classroom environment. It is the concept of higher and improved academic
environment. It helps in delivering education as per expectation of students and their families
because it aims at broader concept of studying. For learning about computing and its
effectiveness in boosting learning I choose United Kingdom because I feel it is the place where
education system is advance and education already implements the use of computers and
practical learning. In my opinion, exploring education system of UK will help me in learning
about various new things and collecting. Apart from my career plans, I choose “X” university
because according to me it is the place where educators involves in learning and researching
experience of students in order to guide them the right and wrong which according to me is the

Research tittle
To explore the effectiveness of computing in boosting learning environment in school and
colleges.
Overview of the research topic
Technological expansion has been increasing day by day and it is reason behind
advancement of education system. Like, classrooms are getting equipped with computers and
wireless connection of internet. Classroom studying on computers is the strategy which helps
educators in promoting learning standards and establishing creativity for students. With the helps
of computing studying the students are able to extract more and more knowledge on one topic.
Computing is considered as effective tool for boosting earning environment because it
encourages students to involve in classrooms as it is focused on more practical learning instead
of theoretical concepts (Kwok- Wing, 2006). Class room computing is broader concept and
assisting educators in delivering education as per expectation of students ad teachers. However,
computer communication and information access has created revolution in teaching and learning
practices of schools and colleges.
The most beneficial part for improvement in learning practices is the improvement in
education system which is focused on deepening skills and engaging students in class room
learning. The computers have boosted learning environment as it has strengthen learning system
of schools and universities. Further, communication via computer and access to information
through internet has enhanced student understanding as it is not limited to only on way whereas
it provides different techniques of learning to students as per their ability of understanding. The
best strategy offered by computing learning environment is the Engagement of students.
Apparently, classroom computing resources boost learning environment as it provides creativity
to education system which lays ban important role in attracting ad engaging students in
classrooms. The setup for computing education system requires teachers training as it turns
learning into excitement and in new powerful subject (Peppler, 2013). The training of educators
plays an important role because during computing learning there is big time involvement of
students and therefore the teachers needs to be prepared with all type of queries to keep learners
engaged in class room environment. In this the focus on educators is to promote independent
thinking of students and with the increasing use of technologies the students are able to ask more

questions, inquire about queries and information, and are activity participating in learning
process. The participation of students in classroom environment reflects the success and
effectiveness of computing learning environment. Thus, there are educators according to whom
learning via computers and internet is longterm learning process and helps in emotional
development of learners as it is focused on independent thinking, understanding an learning.
Background of study
Technological advancement ha s created its own place in modern era. The use of
technological tools has become necessity of human life. The evolution of computer and internet
has created revolution worldwide. It is mostly used by students and business person. Further, to
make use of computers advanced and to create awareness among society about the effective use
of computers, the educators launched a subject in every school and college which is focused on
study of science of computer and it is known as computer science. In this subject the educators
are focused on making learners aware about the uses of computer (Falloon, 2011). With the
learning it has become interesting technology worldwide especially of communication and
information access. The increasing access have improvised the learning system and therefore
these days in schools and universities the classroom are equipped with computers and educators
are focused on computing learning. Hence, in this study the researcher will focus on evaluating
effectiveness of computing in boosting learning environment. In this the researcher will gather

Rationale of Study
The motive of conducting this study is to analyse importance of implementing computing
in education system of school and colleges. This research will assist researcher in determining
benefits and limitation of making classroom learning technological (Kim, Song and Yoon,
2011). Further, the scholar is focused on this topic because this will help the person in evaluating
view point of different authors and students over improvised classroom environment. However,
this will assist in analysing future changes which can be altered in education system to boost
learning environment in school and colleges.
Literature Review
According to Wood and et.al., 2012, classroom computing is termed as clever computing
with the help of which educators are able to involve students in regular learning. As per
educators it is broader concept of studying and helps in providing different ways of education
every day which enables creativity and encourages students to participate in classroom activities.
The author believes that it is the process which develops independent thinking among learners
which strengthens class room environment Independent learning and focus on students is based
on active participation as it is the strategy which creates communication among educators and
students. Similarly, Gikas and Grant, 2013, has stated that computing learning is termed as
effective for schools and colleges as it is enables positive learning environment. Moreover, the
author stated computing teaching is not only effective for students but it also focuses on active
participants of teachers. Like, during technological teaching the students involve in studying due
to which queries generate and to answer students it is important for the educators to engage and
participate in class room environment. In accordance the author stated that computing learning
environment in schools and universities require cognitive, social and meta cognitive skills. It
helps the students in process own leaning which assist the teachers in analysing individual level
of understanding and motivation to learn. However, Dede, and Richards, 2012, has stated that

Lego Logo class room environment is more effective in comparison to computing learning as in
this the students are able to demonstrate learning via tools and different models. In accordance, it
is the technique which focus son engagement if students and educators in learning at same time
with one common project. It focuses on constructive and valuable conversation between educator
and learner which is the strategy that represents individual involvement in learning process. In
this type of learning environment the teachers are focused on creating problems and problems
solving techniques as it helps the students in developing knowledge and understanding real life
situations.
In contrast, Barrett and et.al., 2015, has stated that in computing learning environment the
role of teacher keeps on changing and it needs teacher to be constructivist oriented and needs of
be a knowledge facilitator instead of knowledge presenter. Further, setting computing learning
environment need proper planning as there are various software to which it is important for
teachers to develop understanding to making students comfortable to environment. Moreover,
scheduling use of computer in schools is the most critical process because large classroom comes
with management problems. In addition, the author has stated that in computer based classroom
the teacher are no longer knowledge authority as every student have access to internet from
where the individuals can get every bit of detail regarding anything. Apparently, Lockwood and

Cornell, 2013, has stated that it is important for the educators to have basic knowledge and skills
regarding use of computers in order to guide learners. Therefore, it is important for the schools
and universities to organise teachers centred programme which are focused on learning
community to support development of teachers. According to author, students learning in
computing class room is an effective process because it is focused on enhancing practical
knowledge and skills of students which is the best way to enhance lifelong learning of students in
colleges and schools.
As per What does a Good Computing Classrooms look like?, 2017, classroom study with
computers enables freedom in learning environment which motivates experimenting and
hacking. Its is an electronical instrument for students which enables different type of functions
with its different tools such as sensors, Printers, bits etc. It is the technological advancement
which has replaced system of chalkboard, whiteboard and overhead. It is considered as effective

for boosting learning environment of colleges and schools because it enables learners to read
efficiently without facing difficulty of understanding language and handwriting, the lecture and
learning of class can be recorded for future. Further, it helps students in working in group with
the use of laptops and person systems which reduces the risk of maintaining record of work and
reports. In this exchanging notes become easy for students which helps educators in delivering
notes easily in case students is absent. The management of notes and lecture becomes easy with
computing learning environment as every basic detail is recorded in computers. According to
Rallis, 2000, it allows learners to make innovation in their notes and working which helps in
enhancing their learning experience like students create presentation for class to showcase their
learning to teachers and to school mates, uploading presentation on web page to create own
image in school or college etc. These are strategies which comes with computing learning which
helps the individual in managing own quality and independent learning. Apart from this, with the
help computing learning students explore situation and knowledge. Exploring knowledge with
different students via different sources is the strategy which helps learner in developing
understanding over various classroom topics. In contrary, Kwok- Wing, 2006, has stated that
Computing is effective process for learning environment in school and colleges because it
focuses on active participation students and educators at same s\time. It enables communication
of doubts and confusion which helps educators in analysing students learning and understanding
abilities. Theses computing learning of students helps in motivating them to learn independently
without seeking for help. This concept has assisted educators in improvising methods of
classroom learning for students.
Methods of Study
Methods of study plays an important role in research process as it helps in making entire
research effective and systematic for researcher (Fiegen, 2010). With the help of methodological
tools the scholar is able to determine step wise process for collecting and analysing information.
The tools help the person in developing critical understanding over research tittle which is the
foremost and crucial part of entire study.
Research Philosophy: Philosophy helps the scholar in analysing about research tittle and its
significance. It is important because it acts as base for entire process and information collection.
It helps the scholar in analysing necessary information which helps in outlining conclusion (3.5
Simple Random Sampling and Other Sampling Methods, 2018). There are two type of research

philosophy that is positivism, interpretivism in positivism research philosophy the researcher is
focuses on analysing logical information and argument of study on the basis of observation.
Apparently, interpretivism research philosophy helps the researcher in understanding research
information by coordinating with models and theories. This helps the scholar in framing reliable
outcomes. Thus, in this research, the scholar will implement the use of interpretivism philosophy
to determine effectiveness of computing in boosting learning environment in school and
colleges.
Research design: This helps the individual in making blue print of entire process which makes
study systematic and helps in determining loopholes and shortcomings which can investigation
process. This frames road map for study which comprise every bit of detail which is the best
strategy to measure process of investigation. There are various types of research design that is
experimental, exploratory, descriptive etc. In experimenting design the scholar aims at
implementing current scenario and research tittle to different situation to draw conclusion
whereas in descriptive style the person analyses different sources of information and framing
them theoretically (Qualitative Research Methods & Methodology, 2018). This is the most
effective process as it helps the scholar in making accurate conclusions. However, in exploratory
design the person aims at exploring different outcomes to one situation which covers all the pros
and cons of study. Thus, in this research process the scholar will implement the use of
exploratory research design as it will help the person ins seeking different sources for analysing
effectiveness of computing class room environment ins schools and colleges.
Research Approach: It is the tool which reflects specific and general content of investigation. It
bis the tool which helps the person in framing critical understanding over research topic. It offers
two types of approaches that is inductive and deductive (Zumitzavan and Michie, 2015). With
the helps of inductive approach the scholar is able to frame outcomes from specific form to
general terms whereas in deductive approach the research is able to draw spic outcomes from
general information. Both the approaches have their own benefits and limitations. Thus, in this
research process the research will implement the use of inductive approach where the person will
collect specific information from 20 students of schools and universities and will interpret ate it
into general terms.
Data Collection: It is the most crucial part of research process as in this researcher focuses on
collecting information on research tittle through different sources. The foremost planning of
Document Page
scholar in this phase to determine the best source of collecting information. There are two type of
data collection process that is primary and secondary where in secondary the individual focuses
on collecting information through already available resources that is, article, books, journals,
governmental publications, magazines etc. (Different research methods, 2017) However, in
primary data collection the researcher focuses on collecting current information through focused
group, interviews, emailing, one to one interaction etc. Thus, in this research process the scholar
will implement the use primary data collection process in which the person will conduct
interview of 20 students among which 10 will be the ones who have experience computing class
room teaching and 10 will be the one who have not. The process will be conducted by with the
help of questionnaire in which the researcher will frame 10 questions which will based on
effectiveness of computing in boosting learning environment in school and colleges.
Sampling: Sampling is another most crucial part of research process sin which researcher
focuses on choosing individual and resources from large group. In this the focus on scholar is to
choose sources which are capable to enabling research information. Further, sampling cam be
done in various types that is probable and non probable (Geerts, 2011). In probable sampling the
researcher aims t implementing random sampling because in this every source have equal chance
of getting selected as everyone and every source is capable as per aim of study. However, in non
probable sampling the researcher aims at implementing use of cluster or stratified sampling
because every sources is completely different. Thus, in this research process the individual will
aim at implementing use of random sampling where the scholar will choose 20 participants who
will be students of schools and universities. Among, 20 respondents 10 will be the ones who
have experience computing class room teaching and 10 will be the one who have not
Data Analysis: Analysing gathered information is the most crucial part of study as it is base on
which researcher aims at drawing conclusions and recommendation. Further, it is the most
critical part of study as it is time consuming because in this the researcher aims at segregating
necessary information. Alteration of collected data is most time consuming and complex process.
There are two types data analysis tool that is qualitative and quantitative where in qualitative
analysis the researcher aims at analysing information with the helps of mathematical tools in
numerical terms. It is complex process but on the other hand its accurate and authentic. In
qualitative analysis the scholar focuses on interpretation information with the helps of themes
which is known as thematic analysis. This helps in framing reliable and accurate outcomes.
Document Page
Thus, in this research process, the scholar will implement the use of qualitative analysis where
the person will evaluate interview of 20 respondents with the helps of themes.
Ethical Consideration: Ethical consideration is the most effective step of researcher because
with the helps of this the researcher is bale to analysis n right and wrong of study. Considering
moral, values, belief of study plays vital role for researcher because it helps In making process
authentic and safe. In this research process the scholar will ensure that not more than 10 minutes
are consumed for 1 students and will make sure that no respondent is forced to participate in
process.
Research limitation: It is most common part of study because everything has its pros and con.
The major difficulty which can come in this research to investigator is in data collection and
analysis. Further, it is important for researcher to complete process on given time by framing
accurate conscious and recommendations.
