This project, submitted to Open University Malaysia in 2019, investigates the effectiveness of Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS) in enhancing worker productivity and safety. The research explores the relationship between safety culture and safety performance, with a focus on how Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities can improve OSHMS. The project includes a literature review, research methodology, results and findings, and recommendations. It addresses factors affecting safety performance, the impact of TPM on safety culture, and the creation of an effective TPM framework. The study aims to improve safety performance, foster collaboration among safety elements, and maintain assets, ultimately leading to enhanced safety culture, decreased accident rates, and increased job satisfaction for workers. Recommendations include sufficient resource supply, the implementation of safety and health policies, and relating productivity with TPM systems. The project utilizes a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and data analysis to assess safety culture and the effectiveness of TPM in improving safety performance.
