INTRODUCTION
Special learning disability can be defined as the children having developmental
coordinator disorder, dyscalculia and developmental dyslexia. Also, the UK government have
analysed that the one out 50 British adults have learning disabilities. The programmes are
designed by the UK for the purpose of supporting the children having learning disability. These
programmes are developed in order to help the children in the education procedure. This report
focusses on analysing the effectiveness of the programmes developed in UK for supporting
children with learning disabilities (Bui and et. al. 2020). Also, these programmes initiate
strategies that aims at creating awareness about the programmes and DFID controls and monitors
the programs effectiveness. Furthermore, this report will provide a review of the programmes
developed by the UK government. It will involve analysis of the data and the resources
methodologies with their interpretations.
MAIN BODY
Literature Review
According to Calvin and Gray 2020, This research based on the methodology of the
primary research. This research will also include the focus group who will provide their
viewpoint regarding the learning disability of children. The learning disability of children is the
main focus of DFID i.e., Department for international development. This department aims at
promoting sustainable development across the globe. This department comes under the
government of UK who is responsible for the administration of overseas aid. In this study we
have undertaken the primary research methods which involve survey, observational research,
interviews and questionnaire. In the interview methods, we have asked the citizens of the UK
about the programmes for special disability children and how it have effected their perspectives.
The interview questions comprises of what is the concept of the children with learning
disability?, how this learning disability can be overcome? And what is the results of the
programmes initiated for this purpose?. This study will analyse the response of the citizens and
record them for future study evaluation. Furthermore, this study will use online survey method in
which comprises of some open ended and some close ended questions for the respondents to
gather the information regarding the learning disability programmes.

According to Camden and et. al. 2020, In addition to this the focus of DFID is yo launch
the programmes that will help the children with learning disability. The primary research
methods is also include the analysis of the emphasise on the researcher observation regarding the
topic of the study. This research will find out the reason for the disability. Moreover it have been
evaluated that the poverty can be considered as the main cause and consequence for the learning
disability by the DFDI. The children who are undertaken under the learning disability includes
those who are enrolled in the schools but gets excluded from learning, diversified groups of
children who are facing severe disabilities and require support from the government side. It have
been also founded that education can be considered as an tool that will reduce discrimination
among the children with learning disabilities. As this will help the learning disable children to
join the employment market and transform them in positive role models. Also, there are three
approached for educating the children with learning disabilities namely; segregation, inclusive
education and integrated education . The segregation depicts that the children with learning
disability should be educated at home or in some special schools. Furthermore, inclusive
education involve children with learning disability will attend the mainstream school where the
facilities are designed and transformed to meet al the needs of the children. In addition to this the
integrated education approach involves that children with disabilities will attend special sessions
and classes in the mainstream school. Also, there are some of the barriers for educating the
children with learning disabilities. This involves the policy and system factors, social and
community factors and school factors.
As per the veiw of Capozza 2020, In this study we have researched with the help of
primary methodology. We have interviewed community groups and find out that the parental
resistance for inclusive special education is the main obstacles. Also, the teachers have
inadequate training due to which they will not will be able to tackle disabled children. The
policies must be design in such a way that it will enhance the efficiency of the programmes
initiated for the children with learning disability. The search criteria that have been applied in the
study is the online survey and interview. Through this we have initiated the graphs and tables
which will provide a brief information about the topic. Also, the primary research methods have
helped in establishing direct contact with the respondents and make them aware about the
disabled children. The special education needs is the right of the disable children having learning
disabilities. It is the responsibility of DFDI to ensure this effectively. This also involves the

analysis of the data regarding the children having numerous learning disabilities. This research
study will also focuses on the types of primary research methods which aims at competing and
achieving the research objectives.
According to Phiri 2020, This methodology will focus on the the adoption of the primary
research method. This involves the qualitative and quantitative approaches. The quantitative
approach involves the online survey and the interview methods. As this will involves getting the
viewpoint of the peoples regarding the impact of the programmes for the children having
learning disabilities. Also, this will help in creating awareness about the policies for the children.
On the other hand the qualitative approach will emphasise on the focus group and human
observation for the completion of the research project. The human observation includes that the
viewpoint of the respondents regarding the topic will be recorded by the researcher. This will
help them in evaluating conclusions which will ensure the successful achievement of the
research objective . With this, the research process will be carried out smoothly. There is also an
evaluation of the data and the graph analysis. Furthermore, there are many policies which are
designed for the children and some of the articles 23 and 24. these articles will safeguard the
interest of the children from being exploited. The research also shows that out of every 50 British
individuals there is an disable person among them. Due to which there is an need arise for the
introduction of programmes for the children with learning disabilities.

The above mentioned graph depicts the different learning disabilities which are being
faced by the children in mainstream primary school. This graph provided a thorough study of the
disabilities of children during the learning procedure. For example, one children having an
autistic spectrum disorder will require support with language and on the other hand the another
children may require support in the from of social interaction. This choice gets differ by the age
of the individual along with the environment of the study. This study will focus on the issues
faced by the children with learning disabilities while planning and self organisation. Around 12%
people in this graph is with SEN support which shows that most of the students group study in
primary mainstream schools (Cook and et. al. 2020). In primary schools the primary types of
needs include speech, language and communication needs (28%), social, emotional and mental
health (16%) and specific learning disabilities (10%). these needs must be analysed properly in
order to develop an effective analysis of it. This graph have also analysed that the children
having learning disability will face some of the barriers which will be faced by them. In this way
the research methodology have been carried and the data have been recorder by the researcher.

The above mentioned graph depicts the learning disability of children in the secondary
schools. In the secondary schools , there is an involvement of moderate learning disabilities
which comprises of 27 % and later on there are specific learning abilities which are 23%. in
addition to this, speech, language and communication disorder comprises of 9% which is
reduced as compare to primary schools. For these reason the study have focused on both the
interventions of the primary and secondary schools. The study have provided an idea about the
distinction between the percentage of learning disabilities of children in primary and secondary
schools. This study have been analysed in order to develop conclusion and recommendation for
the development of the programmes of UK government for children having learning disability.
Also, this have also determined that the programmes initiated have great impact that they have
reduced the number of disable children (Dwyer and et. al. 2020). In addition to this it reflects the
efficiency of the programmes formed and launched by UK government. This will determine the
effect of programmes initiated by the government in UK for the overall skill development of
children with learning disability.
Policy and media analysis.
There are many policies which have been developed by the UK government in favour of
the children with learning disabilities. For these children it have became difficult to access their
right to education due to the resistance from the society regarding their presence in the normal
school. There are mainly two options for the development of the policies. The first option is to
target the perspective of the society. For this there can be policies which can be launched in order
to create and enhance the awareness of the society regarding the issues and problems faced by
the children with learning disabilities. This will help the children to get a place in the society and
the citizens group will be able to acknowledge their presence. In this the media can play an
effective role by creating or generating awareness among this issue. The media need to develop
an effective team of people which will targets the citizens group and record their response. On
the other hand the second option is to enhance the targeted children with learning disabilities that
are completing their schooling effectively. Also, the government must ensure compliances with
the international conventions. Furthermore, the government must introduce the policies which
will ensure that the children will come under the mainstream of primary education programme.
Document Page
This will help the children in getting access the knowledge and resources which will aid their
overall development (Gibbs and et. al. 2020).
These policies will provide support and assistance to the children and will reduce their
exploitation. Also, the media can capture and analyse the problems faced by the children with
learning disabilities. This will help them in getting the educational rights and can take the
advantage designed for the children by the UK government. The role of media is to deliver the
authenticated information to the respondents in order to analyse and evaluate their view points
regarding the policy. The government must ensure that the children are getting their right and
this must be monitored on a regular basis. Also, it the duty of the government to review the
policy in some time in order to evaluate the neds for further improvements. Moreover, the media
will also try to find out the ways in which they can deliver the improvements suggestions to the
government authorities (Steacy and et.al. 2020). As this might help the children in enhancing
their success with the help of effective education at the primary schools. There are 145 countries
who are considered as the signatories in the convention of rights of persons with disabilities. This
have transformed the awareness about this preserving act at a global level. The barriers for the
students having learning disabilities have created an issue for the media coverage. As it is the
duty of the media personnels to enhance the awareness about the current issues and news.
The DFID have developed policies which involves Article 32 of the convention of the
rights of the children with learning disabilities (Guillén Botella and et. al. 2020). This right will
ensure that these children will get cooperation from the international and national peoples. With
this there is an article 24 which includes the rights of education. This involves that the state
parties must ensure that the person with learning disabilities must not get excluded from the
educational rights. Also, the person with disabilities have the rights to access the an inclusive
quality of education of primary and secondary both. In addition to this the person with
disabilities can have the support of the general education system. For this the government must
design effective measures for the children in order to support them from exploitation.
A reflection statement
In this research report I have learned to use primary research methodology. This methodology
provides me an understanding of the concepts of the children having learning disabilities. Also, I have
prepared the analysis report after evaluating the response of the respondents. In this study I got to know

about the trends and policies developed by UK government for the children. Moreover, this knowledge
have helped me in enhancing my knowledge about the reasons and barriers for the children having
learning disabilities. I can apply this knowledge in my current and future career which will enhance my
efficiency and effectiveness. In addition to this I can help the children by introducing some social
development programmes which will help in maintaining my social responsibility grounds. I have
analysed the online survey and data which have enhance my analytical skills. If I want to rate myself on
the basis of this study then I would give myself 7 out of 10 as I have faced some complex issues with the
findings of the research topic. This have also helped me overcoming my weakness of analysing the
external situations and developing conclusions out of them. In the overall point of view I can say that this
report have shifted my thinking process towards the learning disabled children of society.
