Problem Statement
Racism has occurred throughout the years and is often includes the idea that humans can
be subdivided into distinct groups that are different due to their social classes, behaviour
and the mentality of having superiority over other races and due to that it may resulted in
several causes that been affected by the issues. One of the primary causes is being
withdraws by society and because of that people may be suffering from mental illnesses
which includes depression, anxiety, anger and mood swing. Hence it is very important to
eliminate racism and by doing so, it can create a bigger social circle without any
boundaries or discrimination among group of people. On the other hand, students may
feel a sense of acceptance, ownership and indifference among other individuals, this may
increase their self-esteem and therefore they may feel a sense of belonging in the
University community. However, according to Webster (1983), “a conviction that race is
the essential determinant of human characteristics and limits and the racial contrasts
create a natural prevalence of a specific race”. Hence, if people willing to embrace the
racial differences, this will have created a positive impact to the society.
Significance Of Research
Some of the investigation of racism among university students behaviour shows how it
affects individual behaviour and min-set. Which, often times, may results discrimination
among group of people based on their race or ethnicity. Hence, it is very crucial to find
the solution to eliminate the existence of racism and also prevent it to happen among
students. Moreover, it is very important to understand how the ideas of racism can affect
a person’s life and what is the solution for it thus, by spreading awareness of the negative
effects that leads of racism, it will be easier to educate people to accept racial and cultural

differences and also by organizing a charity or even host an events for working towards
these issues.

The purpose of the research is to understand the effects of racism on University students
behaviour and how does racism can affect university students behaviour and lifestyles
and what is the solutions to prevents it for occurring.
