INTRODUCTION
“Parents” are considered to be one the most responsible person’s in everyone’s life. Being
parents is also a very responsible responsibility to perform. In this abstract a light is thrown
on problems and sacrifices teen moms and child have to face in the world.
16 and Pregnant
This was the American based reality television show which was telecasted on MTV. This
show was aired on June 11, 2009 to July 14, 2014. In this show struggle of teen mom was
shown and in each episode there were different young girls shown who got pregnant and was
pregnant from 4.5 months to 8 months. As shown in the episode most of the time the relations
between teen mother and her husband got spoiled because of the unplanned pregnancy. Most
of the time baby’s father denies supporting the baby’s mother as he is not ready for the
responsibility yet. Family of teen mom also got depressed of this news and they also lack in
providing positive support to teen mom.
Teenage mom had faced many challenges such as mental and social pressure because in most
of the cases teen mom was either studying in school or in college and she had to leave her
studies because of this pressure. Her dreams got finished because she was not having any
support. As shown in the episode most of the time teen fathers does not support his baby and
baby’s mother instead he left them alone and shows no concern. This result in careless caring
of child and child may involve in wrong direction in future (Todd, 2013).
Father fulfils the dreams of his child and they also ensure to make the future of child bright
and successful. There is always a support of father to his child but if father denies the
responsibility of child then it results in struggle of single mom (Schalz, 2013).

Legal frames and laws took care of the child and teen mom and they fulfils their basic
necessities. This was the only financial and social support of teen mom has. There were
several complications which were faced by teen mom during pregnancy such health issues,
low weight baby, premature deliveries and many more (Mcghee, 2013).
The chances of parents and baby farewell was less because there are many reasons by which
they were not been able to make the future of child bright and this was also shown in episode
that “there was a teen mom and dad who had given birth to a baby girl and they want to take
care of their child but because of teen couple parent’s they were not been able to take care of
that child and they had to left that child in hospital.” This will ultimately result in bad future
of the child (Bass, 2013).
CONCLUSION
Teen Pregnancy may create serious health issues to mother and child and it may also result in
careless caring of child because at an early age young mother and father may not take child
properly. And financial problems to teen mom and child may occur in future.
