AI Summary
This Con-Position Proposal explores the potential of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to improve public health, while also addressing the challenges associated with their implementation. The research question focuses on removing barriers related to sociodemographic variables and public awareness to realize the full potential of EHRs. The proposal argues that despite decades of use, the healthcare industry has yet to fully leverage EHRs, and highlights the need for improved data quality, content, and public awareness campaigns. The proposal includes a synthesis matrix with three sources, addressing the need for computer literacy among healthcare workers and patients, the risks of security breaches, and the need for regular software upgrades. The proposal concludes with references to support the arguments made. The assignment follows the provided template, including a title page, research question, claim, and research proposal, along with a collection of sources in APA format.

Con-Position Proposal
SUBJECT: Electronic health records (EHRs)
EHRs carry great potential to improving population health.
However, in order to realize the full potential, it is essential to
understand EHRs and the purpose.
RESEARCH QUESTION: How to remove the barriers realize associated with socio-
demographic variables and public awareness to realize the
complete potential of EHRs for public health and raise the
awareness towards EHRs.
CLAIM: Although EHRs have been here for decades, the health care
industry still has to achieve the full potential of EHRs. It is
essential to improve EHR data quality and content and raise
awareness among the public with information campaigns.
RESEARCH PROPOSAL: EHRs is an interesting topic to research on, as despite being
there for decades, the health care industry still needs to realize
their full potential. There are still certain challenges that
surround the implementation of EHRs. It was challenging to
find the focus of the research as there is a wide volume of
research on EHRs. There are so many perspectives to the
subject of EHRs that it can be researched on from numerous

angles. Still, after reviewing a large number of research
articles on EHRs, I was able to finalize three articles that
would be suitable for the research.
