1SUMMARY OF EHR SYSTEM
This section is going to summarize the comparison of all three Electronic Health Record
or EHR’s key functions and key factors and will discuss the processes it can conduct. This
section will compare the EHRs depending upon their software, user-friendly techniques, privacy
policy, entity authenticity, information security, data availability and confidentiality.
The first EHR is of the company EMR experts is available in 27 variants and is very
efficient in working at a big organization. It is seamless in coordination with all the hospital
equipment and system to store the data of the patient (Emrindustry, 2017). The other EHR
Company, Athena healthcare provides cloud based EHRs and the key feature of this EHR is its
user-friendly applications. The homepage, patient chart, order and e-prescribing section and the
epocrates containing the medication list, dosing information and everything can be accessed with
one click (AthenaHealth, 2017).
The third EHR system by practice Fusion Company contains all of these mentioned
features with some added features such as automatics update of the patient, free portal of the
patient, task management and flexible scheduling and intuitive charting. This EHR is better than
the previous ones in engaging patients in the system. Through this EHR system, patients are able
to access their information, their medication history according to their convenience (Practice
Fusion, 2017).
Privacy and confidentiality is the basis of the EHR system and some of these EHRs avail
consent from the previous organization or the patient to access their information in the database.
However, few of the EHRs have password facility and the password is known to the patient, by
which patient has the right to share his/her data with any organization.
