INTRODUCTION
Business plan is a written document which summarizes the operational and financial
goals of business and contains a projected profit and loss statement. A business plan is also use
road map strategy that provides directions so business can plan it's future and help to avoid
losses in business (Burns and Dewhurst, 2016).
This report will highlight business plan in which following aspects are included vision,
mission, objective, company background, marketing mix, marketing strategy, SWOT analysis,
PESTLE analysis, competitor analysis and budgeting. It will also provide recommendations for
the successfully running of the new business.
MAIN BODY
Question 1 Overview of Business
Eight seeds Cafe serves quality products and services which they believe to be good
things in life. It was founded in 2019 and is presently situated at 170, Oxford Street, Melbourne,
Australia. It provides services all day, which includes, breakfast, juices, roasted coffee, cakes,
lunch, dinner and much more cravings for its customers. Some of the objectives the company
wants to achieve are as follows:
Offering different vouchers and coupons to attract customers to attract customers.
Conserving a list of its customers for mailing purpose, to make them aware about
the day to day offers.
Its targeted customers are 15- 55 years old. Its per year income counts to approximately
$15,000 to $100,000. It has its competitors such as Chicken's Joint and burger little, which are
well known fast food as well as coffee provider with strong business and marketing plan.
Moderate pricing structure is being used by them and also provides full course meal, due to low
prices it attracts its customers, which is a very less comparison for Eight Seeds Cafe(Storey,
2016).
For continuous growing in the dynamic market where the tastes and preferences of
customers are ever changing, it adopts marketing and promotional activities which include
distribution of fryers in the nearby surrounding areas, vouchers, complementary snacks and
dessert to attract more and more customers(Kopnina and Blewitt, 2018). So that, it can create a
strong market share and go ahead of its competitors effectively.

A business plan is made for a long run in the market, it is basically a written description
which guides about the plan to be followed and strategies to be adopted for gaining competitive
advantage in the targeted market (Lam, 2018). Business plan of the 8 Seeds Cafe is as follows -
Mission
To provide reasonable products and food services to its customers with great quality,
along with a healthy, comfortable and positive surroundings.
Vision
To gain a substantial income by becoming the leading coffee owner, together with
keeping in mind the satisfaction and dignity of customers and also its employees respectively.
Objectives
To maintain the quality of food and services.
Providing a environment to its customers which is friendly and comfortable.
7Ps Marketing Mix
It is the blend of various tools such as product, people, promotion, etc. which are
controlled by the Eight Seeds for efficiently growing in the market(The marketing mix, 2019). Product: It provides a wide range of roasted coffee, mouth watering breakfast, lunches,
brunches, juices, etc. And also focusing on the extend the variety of roasted coffee by
exporting it from different places. Process: It provides the distribution process of its products in its cafe, take away services
are also imparted along with online delivery so that it is easily available to the targeted
customers. Place: Eight Seeds cafe is situated in Oxford Street, Melbourne and is planning to open
one more branch in Berkeley St, Carlton, as the level of competition there is
comparatively low(Stead and Hastings, 2018). People: It has currently 55 employees approximately working, and they are provided
training and skill development. So that, they can attract more customers and satisfy their
needs by providing quality goods and services. Physical Evidence: Packaging of the ordered products is done in a neat and clean manner
and also the environment of the cafe is soothing, comfortable for all the age groups
(Wynne, 2016).

Pricing: It uses penetration method of pricing for attracting more and more customers
through initially providing lower prices along with good quality product, till the trust is
gain and then eventually increasing them.
Promotion: It attracts the customers through advertising in pamphlets, newspapers and
also providing complementary dessert and snacks. Also, they offers free coffee to the
premium customers on order above $55.
Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning Strategies
Segmentation Strategy – Segmentation strategy refers to the marketing strategy in which
company divide the whole customers group into particularly group on the basis of some
particular characteristics. There are several types of segmentation, company can opt for. These
segmentation are as follows – Demographic, Geographic, Geo-Demographic, Behaviour and
Psycho-graphics (Ishak, 2018).
In case of Cafe 8 Seeds, Company will go for demographic segmentation in which
customers will be segmented on the basis of the characteristics of population.
Targeting Strategy – Targeting in marketing strategy can be define as the activity of company in
which they focus on the particular group of customers from the chosen segment and then try to
sell them products and services offered. There are various criteria, on which company try to
target their customers. These criteria are such as – income level, age group, gender, education
level, family background or occupation etc.
Cafe 8 Seeds will target middle to high income level customers with mostly focus on
youth and adult people.
Positioning Strategy – Positioning strategy is the marketing strategy in which company will
focus on the perceptions and brand images of itself in the mind of customers. It is done through
the positioning map (Hollensen and Opresnik, 2019).
Cafe 8 Seeds will take 4 dimensions – High Quality, Low Quality, High Price and Low
Price. On the basis of these dimensions, Cafe wants to position itself as high quality and low

SWOT Analysis will help Eight Seed's owner to find out the internal strengths and
weakness of the cafe which are controllable and also about the opportunities and threats arising
from the external factors which cannot be controlled(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and
Threat (SWOT) Analysis, 2019). It helps in finding out the position of the business in the
targeted market.
STRENGTH WEAKNESS
The cafe keeps its customers always at priority
and entertain them accordingly by providing
the quality products and services they desire
for, which results in more retention rate of
customers comparatively (McKenzie, 2015).
Eight Seeds provides mainly two to three
options for vegetarians, due to which the
customers does not come frequently.
Therefore, focus has to be done on serving the
variety for the vegetarians as well.

Political Factors These factors influence the business in many ways, such as changes
in the rules and guidelines in relation to food and products for health
and safety purposes, or reforms in taxation(Scanning the
Environment: PESTEL Analysis, 2016). By taking proper measures
in delivering the food, purchasing of raw materials, etc. Eight Seeds
has to be efficient enough.
Economic Factors The increase in inflation rate can gradually affect the growth of the
Cafe, as the rates will rise, customers will reduce the frequency of
their visits, resulting in ultimate loss(Perera, 2017). But, in case of
high disposable income of consumer, they will more likely to hang
out in Cafes.
Social Factors There are many social; factors which affects the growth of cafe, such
as, now a days, the number of health conscious people is increased,
due to which they visit the cafe very frequently. Therefore, by
providing more healthy and organic food by eight Seeds can retain

Technical Factors Outdated technology can lead to decline in profitability, such as use
of manual registers and no CCTV camera in the premises can have a

Marketing strategy is an organization's strategy which combines all of it's marketing
goals into one comprehensive plan. Company faces some barrier like cost, product, lack of
coordination, confusion in customers. It can be overcome by using marketing strategic plans. If
company reduces cost of their products, that will retain regular customers. Company can achieve
high profit through establish good contacts with new customers it will increase probability of
cafe. Company can overcome through product barrier by giving best product in quality with
varieties like cold coffee, hot coffee, cold coffee frapped etc. and fast food that will helpful to
retain customer in cafe. Some time cafe have to face some coordination problem with customer

that can be overcome by giving training to employees so that they able to give best services to
customers. These all ideas will fruitful for company to running cafe in market.
Promotional strategy
Promotion aims to enhance demand company's product or services. This strategy is
designed to inform, peruse and increase sales through discount. Advertisment etc. Eight seed
cafe have to faces barriers like promotion of product. For example customers doesn't trust on
online advertisement, that decrease customer's sales promotion. Overcome of this barrier through
giving advertisement through newspaper, magazine rather to social media so that will increase
trust of customer regarding company. If company claim 100% quality of product that will
helpful to gain trust of customers. Company can get more profit more if offers some combo
packs like buy two get one free, this type strategy will draw good attention in customers mind
regarding product and services.
Innovation strategy: Innovation of new and different product in market. while An Innovation
strategy means make a plan to grow market share or get profit through product and service
innovation. Company's barrier during innovating new product are lacking of financial support
