How studying Human resources' management program at East London Business School will
enhance my career and personal development
I want to join East London Business School (ELBS) and for my better development, I
chose human resources' management program (Hersey and Blanchard, 2010). The main objective
behind selecting this program is to increase my management quality and also enhance my
development skills. Human resources' management (HRM) plays an important role because it
helps in increasing the work efficiency and knowledge. In future, I want to join corporate
business and with the help of this management course, I can achieve many things in my
professional life which are as follows:
Fundamental skills
By studying human resources' management program at ELBS, my fundamental and
professional skills will be developed. Further, by this course, I will be able to easily manage my
whole work in a particular manner. While studying brief information about this course, I realized
that, if I segregate the whole work in a team then I can easily manage my work and this will also
help in increasing the efficiency of my team members. Moreover, this course will assist me in
developing my professional skills. Through this, I can easily communicate with my senior
authority. Even I do not feel shy to share my views and ideas with other person. Human
resources' management aids in developing knowledge and management capabilities as well.
Profession skills
East London Business School is famous for their discipline and management quality.
Due to this, while studying my human resources management course; I will also develop
professional skills. This course will increase my confidence level and would enhance my
professional skills which are as follows:
Sales skills- Learning human resources' development program will help me in increasing
the selling skills. With the help of this, I will able to know the way to deal with customers and
manner in which I can convince them.
Moreover, HRM will also support me in building my career as it will provide me a lot of
job opportunities and roles in different sectors and they are like:
Human resources' manager- With the help of this role, I will be able to coordinate with
other departments. Furthermore, it will be my responsibility to distribute the work of employees

properly. On the other hand, I will have to take training and development session of all staff
members and need to motivate them by giving them appraisal, incentives and promotion.
Non-profit human resource expert- In this, my responsibility will be
to recruit right person for the organization and make a future plan for company.
HR consultant- In this fast growing world, all organizations requires individuals who can
guide their workers and provide them proper training (Baird and Meshoulam, 2014).
Furthermore, my responsibility will be to clear their doubts and boost up their energy by proper
motivation and proper guidance. Moreover, it will be my duty to guide them in their work and
identify their mistakes which are related to their working process.
On the other hand, human resource development program helps in increasing their
leadership, motivation, reporting and delegating skills. With the help of time management, I will
easily manage the whole schedule and complete all my activities on time. Further, I am thinking
for doing a part-time job and manage my study and living expenses. By joining this course, I can
develop my communication skills and confidence level. This thing will help me in finding new
jobs.
Development and training
Human resource management course assists in enhancing my training skills. Through
this, I will easily take training classes and guide my students. In this training program, firstly, I
will observe the positive and negative points of my students and according to their skills; I will
set my strategies which are based on the way in which I will guide them. Further, time to time, I
will take feedback from my students. By doing this, I will be capable to identify my positive and
negative factors so that I can work on it as well as improve it.
Moreover, as a mentor, I will also attend training classes as with the help of this session, I
can enhance my knowledge and would also understand the needs and expectations of students.
How would a ELBS Bursary support my postgraduate studies
East London Business School (ELBS) is famous for student’s developments. Further, it
time to time supports all their students in their postgraduate studies. In this scholarship,
approximately 55% of student’s course fees is paid by this schools itself (Heppner and Petersen,
2011). Thus, I can easily manage my whole studies and can concentrate on development.
Furthermore, management department also provides different types of scholarship for their post
graduate students and they are as follows:

Need base scholarship- In this, school department will first check their students financial
background and according to their financial condition, they will provide all basic things. With
the help of this scholarship, I can also manage my food, shelter and other basic items at my new
school. Furthermore, by this, I can 100% concentrate on my studies.
School based individual scholarship- It is an innovative scholarship program which is
adopted by East London Business School. In this, teacher analyzes their student’s skills and
capacity of all postgraduate students and then according to their skills, they provide individual
scholarship to them (Kolb, 2014). In this, whole study expenses are paid by the senior
department of the school. By doing this, teaching staff increases the efficiency of all students and
also raises their confidence level.
My old school teacher also suggests me to try for this scholarship and the reason behind
this is that senior mentor knows that I am good and hardworking student. In case, if my new
school department provides me with this individual scholarship I can manage all my expenses.
By providing scholarship facilities, my new school will show their full support to their all
students and by this, they can easily create a positive relationship with them. Further, their
teachers guide in every task and also take extra session for their students. In these classes, they
provide knowledge of current jobs and also train their students for interviews. On the other hand,
this school also provides part-time job opportunities to all students (UEL University of East
London - Royal Docks Business School, 2016). By joining part time job, students can easily
manage their financial expenses. Furthermore, management department time to time takes
feedback from all students and according to their reviews, school department change their
strategies. Moreover, school department time to time organize training session for all the
students and even in these classes, senior authority guides all the postgraduate students and helps
in developing their personality and knowledge as well.
