INTRODUCTION
Social workers have the duty to work towards the improvements and welfare of the
people that impact on the overall conditions of the people. There is requirement for the
government to focus on the society welfare that not only impact on the life of people but also
affect on the development and growth of economy in a positive manner. There is requirement to
evaluate, identify & integrate different sources of knowledge and evidence (Alston and Bowles,
2019). In addition to this, there is need of sustainable well being and practices. The report will
cover the reflection of care worker who is taking care of old age people named as Mr and Mrs
Riley by Morris.
Strength and weaknesses of the meeting along with what did not go well & what would be done
to improve the interaction
Strength: It is analysed by me that my interaction and communication skill is string that help
me to interact with Mr and Mrs Riley in a proper manner and make them understand about the
services provided by us as a social worker (McCurdy, Sreekumar and Mendes, 2020). In addition
to this, this skill help me to conveyance them to accept such services (De Montigny, 2018).
Weaknesses: It is determined by me that it is challenging to make elder people convinced about
the services as they have the though to work at their own till they live. While interacting with
them, it is analysed by me that my conveyancing power and motivation skill is lack because of
which it takes time to make them agree for taking the services. This skill can be improved by me
by focusing on my leadership skills as it will help me to motivate others (Pugh, 2016). Along
with this, I will take part in the interactive and conveyancing session that will assist me to
improve any weaknesses in an effective manner.
It is analysed that social workers have to perform functions and roles in such a way that people
will be satisfied and happy. There is need to evaluate different ways to adjust and maintain the
effectiveness of social workers. There is need to enhance the working of an individual as the
social effectiveness as it helps to manage the working properly. I have been working within UK
social worker field since two years (Featherstone and Gupta, 2020). It was a great experience and
I helped lot of elders to live a good life.
Most of the people living in UK leaves there old parents alone and live along with their wife and
children. So in order to provide social services to them social organisation are formed. These
organisation provides basic facilities like food, water and clothings to them. On a fine day I went

to Mr. and Mrs. Riley, I greeted them nicely and was welcomed with lots of warm blessings. I
wished them nicely and was offered tea which I declined with due respect (Laing and Maylea,
2018). Then I proceeded with the offer of providing objectives of social welfare with them. Then
I decided to explain them the need of having a social worker for help. There is need to have
effective way to manage the process of social working.
I have been working as a social worker in which I volunteer my efforts in old-age homes of UK.
This make me feel empowered and motivated in contributing my wealth for the welfare of old-
age people (Greer, 2016). It has led to fulfilment of my purpose and made my life more
meaningful. We group of people take full care of essential needs and wants of senior citizen in
UK. We provide monthly contribution in cash and kind which leads to optimum utilisation of
resources. It has been managed by central authority of old-age organisation which allocates
resources (Vickers, 2016). It has been led to great help and has improved their health drastically.
In old age homes all the facilities are provided with integration of government and private
institutions efforts. Thus, being socially active in serving senior citizen has led me to experience
various problems in old age life (Jarldorn, 2018). I have been actively contributing my efforts for
resolving their problems. We conduct various recreational activities and programs which helps
them in feeling alive and happy. Also, this help me in experiencing new roles which has
transformed my perspective and has positive impact in my life.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it ha been concluded that there is requirement of proper care
facilities for the old age people of UK. In addition to this, there is some government regulations
that facilitates the care of old age people of United Kingdom. It is analysed that most of the elder
people is not easily ready to take services of care worker as thy prefer to do activities at their
own. The social care in UK provide food, health care, activities which is important for the old
age people for living their life properly.
