1ELECTION CAMPAIGNING
I was hired as a campaign manager for an individual who was standing for a Senate
seat in the upcoming election. The main goal of the campaign was to identify the voters and
move ahead with the campaign with least expenditure along with some meaningful slogans
that would have an impact on the people. One of the strategies to win the election was to
make the best use of technology where regular email alerts would be sent to potential voters.
A close check was kept on the opposing party and plans were made according to it. Our
strategy was to listen more and talk less to win the favour of the voters. By advertising our
goals and objectives on social media like Twitter and Facebook, public opinion was created.
We called media representatives at a conference who helped to circulate our message during
news advertisements as they paint a memory in the head by repeating issues on various media
sources. They set the agenda by selecting topics from which public opinion can be formed
(Denton 2019). The opinion poll has a significant impact on politics as it gives an idea of
what people think about a political party and their objectives.
Our goal was to target business people and college students as they are active voters.
To win the support of the above two, conferences and seminars will be organised where aims
and objectives will be discussed with clarity. Pamphlets will be distributed for those who
cannot afford to attend public meetings. People belonging to a particular culture and
background will try to vote their representatives irrespective of the latter’s policies as it is
believed that they will be able to connect with these groups. Youth and economically
privileged classes will vote those who will make policies that will benefit their business and
interest. Therefore, culture and economic status of people affect the political campaign.
