George W. Bush was the first ever president who lose the
national popular vote since the year 1888 (Neale & Nolan,
2014).
The election was certified by 5conservative justices of
Supreme Court (Cobb, 2019).
Bush got the opportunity of reshaping his agenda and the
coalitional strategy in the Congress for reflecting the new
political realities

Bush v. Gore- a controversial case
It was a controversial case as the 5-4 vote was along the
lines of partisan (Brands, 2014)
This means that justices appointed by the Republican
presidents ruled in the favour of Bush and that appointed
by the Democratic presidents ruled in favour of Gore.
Also, Jeb Bush, the governor of Florida was the brother of
George W. Bush
AI Gore conceded the 2000 election to George Bush but
he disagreed with the ruling of US Supreme Court.

Final Thoughts
I believe that the judgement is a fair one.
In Florida, the duty of determining the intention of votes is
designated to country canvassing boards (Hale, Montjoy *
Brown, 2015).
Choosing balloting systems too fall to the counties that
are free for selecting among many different options with
different accuracy.

Conclusion
2000 U.S. presidential election showed that Gore had won
the popular vote but failed to win the electoral votes.
The case of Bush vs. Gore went to Supreme Court
However, judiciary cannot shy away from the controversial
ruling when they become important and so I believe that
the Supreme Court has taken right actions that it felt is
necessary.
