THE ELECTRIC CAR IS THE FUTURE
With advent of globalisation and technological advancements, there has been an upsurge
of developmental activities in the auto-mobile industry. In recent times, there has been new and
continuous inventions that focus on environmental friendly approaches to bring radical changes
such as use of electric cars. It is the technological reply to the ever-growing issues that is
plaguing the entire world in terms of efficiency, pollution, incessant usage of natural resources
like gas, petrol, diesel etc (Motavalli, 2014). Moreover, it is coming across as a substitute to
other cars in near future for its improved effectiveness.
An electric car, popularly refereed as the battery car is the plugged-in auto-mobile with
more than one motor that run on electricity and must be recharged on regular intervals of time. It
is available in two forms, that is either fuel type or battery based. Along with this, it has been
termed as the future of mobility that has provided assistance in increasing the efficiency in
relation to range, infrastructure and costing, with the implementation of conceptual framework of
mechanics to crossover the usage of ICE's (internal combustion engine). Furthermore, there are
many reusable characteristics that gives these cars an edge over the gasoline engines. These have
a regenerative braking system which have an ability to retain one-fifth of the total consumed
energy.
In regard to the same, firstly, one must understand its significance of birth in current
scenario and its vital necessity that has become the need of an hour. Here, global warming is one
of the driving forces that has spiralling effects on the increased levels of carbon emissions and
greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Recently, IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change) reported that it is likely that the temperature is going to rise above 1.5 degrees Celsius
between 2030 and 2052, due to industrial emissions of carbon and other dangerous gases at such
an alarming rate (Climate Change, 2018). Therefore, all the countries together are working to
achieve the carbon footprint and promoting the use of sustainable items like electric cars.
Currently, Nissan Leaf has been entitled as the best selling electric car in the world. Its journey
towards success paved the path for mass production of many such electric motor cars from other
brands such as Tesla, Toyota Prius and more.

In the above interpretation, it can be clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the
complete performance of an electric car which when compared with the petrol/diesel car, which
takes approximately two-thirds of the energy for travelling equal distance as that of electric one.
Moreover, the vigorous exploitation of renewable sources of energy like fossil fuels have
brought concerns over its faster depletion and slow decomposition of production, affecting the
availability of gas or oil in near future days. Therefore, it is a viable option to initiate the
adoption of electric cars to decrease the negative impacts caused by other type of cars and
vehicles. Nonetheless, all large corporations must promote their existence by employing these
cars for their services to make a statement and putting a strong positioning in the global
competitive marketplaces.
Additionally, this propulsion technological future asset has been adopted and propagated
to replace the carbon generated cars to generate awareness among people about its environmental
friendly measures. It also helps in reducing the climatic pollution created by oil/gas generated
cars that has led to number of diseases which has deteriorated the natural habitat and human lives

immensely. This has benefited the environment by minimising the air pollution levels by
reduction of pollutants like carbon mono-oxide, lead, soot and more. Along with this, its
employment has been encouraged by assisting in the maintenance of sustainable factors like low
costing, optimizing designing aspects through granted subsidiaries, incentives and grants from
the local and national governments of various developed countries like Sweden, Finland etc. to
make these cars affordable to common people.
Now it has not remained the commodity of only high end customers'. This hereby will
make these cars affordable to buy as compared to the internal combustion engine cars. However,
in the first half of this year, the Australian Government has been facing an expected dilemma
with context to planning of uptake of these cars (Mortimore, 2018). They were in fix due to the
modifications made at the federal level in the taxation department that has impacted their
movement of shifting their countrymen towards the renaissance for adoption of the electric cars.
Further, the sources required for this generation of electricity in battery varies from
location to location depending on the geographical segmentations. For instance, Norway has
implemented the hydro-electricity power; France employs the nuclear energy whereas Germany,
UK and few other European Union countries use a mixture of renewable source of energy and
fossils. In addition to this, the complete utility is based on the pricing and expiration of these
different electricity based batteries to apply it in working practices of daily lives of people (Van
Noorden,2014). Although the ulterior motive to promote the utilisation and execution of these
cars in real time has been grown exponentially from last decade. This is due to many reasons
such as their maintenance is hassle free with simple structural format in the construction part.

However, there are many loopholes attached with its utility. This must be discussed to
understand the overall assessment of its implementation aspects. Moreover, there have been
development of various charging stations which are mobile and can be installed in both public
arenas and homes as well. Although it needs charging after using it for a specific distance; this is
similar in terms of how one charges the mobile phone after using it continuously for particular
time. This can affect its shelf life as well as the time efficiency factor and thus, many people still
have comprehensions in switching from oil powered cars to these electric cars. However, this
role of batteries play a crucial part in fixing of the economic aspects when decided to sell it
commercially in the markets.
Nonetheless, the lack of commitment shown from time and again by the producers of car
manufacturing companies due to the abundant availability of oil and gas in the world. This led to

low production of these cars around the world. Due to the greed of these capitalistic owners, they
are ignoring the moral values and principles and still continuing to sell the other types of cars to
fill their pockets. Mostly, they are not thinking in terms of future time which is looking darker
due to the prevalence of high levels of various diversified pollution types of air, water, noise and
many more.
On the other hand, with advent of global issues at worldwide level, many regulatory
bodies and large multinational organisations are taking steps to mitigate this issue by collectively
putting efforts to combat this ignorance towards use of electric cars. In regard to growing
knowledge and advancements in the technological field, it is evident that the updated propulsion
technology with batteries application has opened up new inventions and better models of cars
with a wide variety of range that are available for the targeted audience. Hereby, Tesla has
started innovating its basic features in electric cars by putting the hybrid transformational
principles and concepts. They have included pure electric, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid types
for rich driving experience to make the customer's journey seamless and effortless. Along with,
Nissan who is the pioneer of manufacturing such cars has issued a statement about the leaf
owners in which a milestone of around 3 billion kilometres were covered by using their car in
collective mode (Cole, 2016). Moreover, they have put insights on the economic statistics in
relation to fuel usage and overall finance with special mention of the testing these electric cars
that made them realise its significance in today's society
Additionally, there are many active non-governmental organisations with international
regulatory bodies to work for the betterment of the society in terms of bringing improvisations
and progressions in the environmental aspects (Bakker, van Lente and Engels, 2012). Here, with
reference to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), UNDP (United Nations Development
Program), UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) and such
related international organisations must adhere strict regulations and policies to generate
awareness regarding the utility and advantage of these cars in all parts of the world including
developing like India, Poland etc. and under-developing countries like Bangladesh, Thailand and
more.
Consequently, there is a possibility of depletion of oil and gas in near future that has
provided a platform of emergence of these electric cars in each household as its shelf life is

double than the regular cars putting extra pressure to start using them on immediate basis for
enhanced productivity and probability of resources in more profound manner. Thus, it has
become the latest burning issue to make people believe in this technological answer in place of
regular cars and would assist in saving the non-renewable sources of energy for our future
prospects to attain all the objectives for the well-being of the society on the whole.
