Analysis of the commercial and economic context using appropriate management
techniques:
1. Analysis of the external environment using the PESTLE framework in order to establish
the current and future factors that might impact this market. Comment on your key
findings and on the potential impacts.
The e-car industry in the globe has been constantly on the rise as the market for the e-
car industry has seen a boom with the invention of new technologies and the
formation of new models. The case study here presents the case where a UK
motorcycle manufacturer has plans to enter into the electric motorcycle market
through outsourcing and assembling the motorcycle in different kinds of overseas
facility. Before starting the business in UK, the company must conduct a proper and
efficient marketing analysis of the different factors of the market (Ramachandra
Halahali and Anantha 2016). The external analysis of the company can be completed
through the use of a PESTLE framework.
Political Approach- The political factors can define the level of government
interference in the economy and the impact of such an interference to the company.
The organization has planned to use the electric motor of the Chinese suppliers which
will lead to addition of extra tax as the motors will be imported again to an overseas
facility for assembly. This will incur a considerable import duty for the finished
product. The tax duty will be dependent on the policies of the government of each of
the country. However, the least intervention of the Chinese and UK government in
trade and less charges on shipments can be beneficial for the progress of the new
business.
Economic Approach- The cost of the electric motorcycle, the energy consumption of
the motorcycle, the taxes are all the combination of the resulting final cost. The

company has to ensure the building up of new facilities and infrastructure to support
the motorcycle sales of the company. Development and construction of charging
stations are essential.
Social Approach- The social factors that will be involved in the marketing of the
following trends are the different habits of e-mobility and the growing needs among
the people with the passage of time. The passage of time will itself bring in new and
developed trends that can be important for business success.
Technological Approach- The technological advancement that has been achieved over
the years has resulted in the development of e-vehicles. The company can achieve
success in the UK through the launch of new motorcycles (Vidal 2020).
Environmental Approach- The environmental laws followed in United Kingdom is
quite strict and the laws takes every possible actions to reduce the emission from the
vehicles. The EU laws especially has changed the perspective of climate changes
steps taken up in UK.
Legal Approach- The legal guidelines are an important part of the system and they
must be followed to ensure a smooth business process. The legal standards of UK
regarding the sale of the E-motorcycles must be maintained.
The business thus must have a proper idea of the external and internal marketing
status of United Kingdom business laws and other policies. The development of the
autonomous systems is surely a boon for the organizations. However, the switch to
the new system must be completed properly to ensure success.
