PERSONAL STATEMENT
Engineering is the art of integrating application of scientific principles to resolve
technical issues in an economical manner. Pairing it with the offerings of Technologies can make
this process even more efficient and faster. Today, the world has been swept off its feet with the
insurgence of innovation that disrupt and question the traditional methods of providing solutions
to a given problem. From a black and white television to an ultra High Definition OLED Model,
the world has come a long way in the past two to three decades. I remember my high school
teachers giving away an interesting fact that every five years only fifteen percent of the total
information gained will be relevant. This is especially true in the field of Electrical Engineering
wherein rapid advents in this sector result in a continuous need to keep oneself updated. Thus,
making me automatically fascinated towards its dynamics.
During the years of my primary education, I soon realized that unlike my peers,
mathematics and science were something I thoroughly enjoyed learning about. Additionally, I
enjoyed working in stimulating situations which enabled me to learn something new every time I
came across one. Due to this, my interest in learning more about electronics grew with the years,
specifically in relation to gaming devices. Video-games being one of the closest form of
technology in my childhood made me more inquisitive in knowing how they were built and
operated. It is exciting to think that someone somewhere had an idea to introduce to the world a
game where a small character could eat everything by making them move into the direction of
user's choice. Thus, inventing the game of Pac-Man which enabled one to be entertained as well
as think critically to progress through levels.
Such affinity to games and personal association to them helped me further develop a
strong foundation in the field of mathematics, physics and chemistry. I always wanted to make a
career out of something that involved one or all of these fields and found a calling in the field of
Electrical Engineering that employs almost all of these in one way or another.
As far as extra-curricular activities are concerned, being a team leader in most of my
classroom activities as well as sports lover, enabled me to develop leadership and team
management skills. For instance, during the class room activities, I ensured that there was proper
coordination and communication among the members. Also, it was my duty to ensure that all the
tasks assigned to them were based on their strengths and interests. This also contributed in
honing by analytical skills to know what fits best for whom.
