CE 1.1 Project Information
Name of the project: Production of Electricity by Fast Moving Vehicles (Especially
Trains)
Location of the project: [PLEASE FILL]
Project Duration: [PLEASE FILL]
Organization: [PLEASE FILL]
Role and Designation during the time: Team Leader
CE 1.2 Project Background
CE 1.2.1 Characteristics of the project
Power generation is one of the biggest topic of concern for the present world and non-
renewable sources are at the verge of extension. It is the need for the current society to bring up
an option for the production of power using a renewable source of energy that is not going to
end. I have developed a project that can be helpful in utilizing the wind energy produced by the
fast moving train and convert it into electric energy. I had designed the model to utilize the wind
energy developed by fast moving vehicles in manner to rotate the blades of the turbine that is
attached to the shaft for rotating the magnetic field and thereafter generate electricity through the
general principle of induction. I had also considered the vibration of the train could also be
utilized for the production of electricity and thus, we will also be utilizing this media for the
production of the electricity. I had used the piezos placing it underneath the tracks for the
generation and collection of the electricity that will be obtained due to the vibration of the train.

CE 1.2.2 Objectives developed for the project
I had the responsibility of the team lead and for the successful delivery of the project I
had set the following goals and objectives:
To keep the team members on the track of successfully delivery of the project
To manage the conflicts between the team members
To present a renewable source of energy for the electricity production
To utilize the wind energy produced by fast moving vehicles or trains
To utilize the vibration produced by trains for the production of electricity
CE 1.2.3 My area of work
I was assigned for the setup of the components for the whole system and efficiently lead
the setup for the electricity generation and manage the efficiency of the whole project. I had
divided the team in individual sector of work in which every individual of the team was assigned
to the work according to their interest. I had to monitor and evaluate the whole program after the
establishment of the whole setup. I had also presented the design of the whole system for which
an input was needed that was the wind energy produced by the trains. A turbine was connected in
the sides of the track to rotate the turbine that was connected with the shaft in manner to convert
the mechanical energy into electrical energy. Thereafter I had connected the rectifier. Grid and
the battery in the whole system.

CE 1.2.4 Project Group
CE 1.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
The project had two phases utilizing the wind energy and utilizing the vibration for the
production of the electricity and I was responsible for utilizing the wind energy and generate
electricity. I was responsible for the overall performance of the team as I had assigned job to
each member including the monitoring and evaluation of the undergoing development in the
project. I was responsible for the establishment of all the components and devices within the
whole system including the turbine, alternator, rectifier, grid, and battery. I had to take care that
the project is on the right path and for that I had tried to keep the whole team on track as that was
developed during the establishment of objectives and goals of the project.
CE 1.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 1.3.1 Comprehending the theory of the project
The project was based on the “Faraday’s law of magnetic induction” that has simple
working as that of the power plants and other source of electricity. Unlike to them, I had utilized
the wind speed and vibration of the trains as the source of input and utilized it for the production
of electricity. This wind energy ad vibrating energy could be efficiently converted into electrical
energy through proper setup of the turbines and the alternator and these source of energy could
be the future source of electricity. The energy created by the vibrations and pressures could be
converted into electrical power through the application of the Piezoelectric sensors. I had
developed this project as to introduce the world with a source of energy that could be utilized
again and again without any fear of extent.

CE 1.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
For this whole set up of the power generation, electrical engineering was the basic
concept for the platform of the project and successful execution of the project. I had applied the
basic learning of my academics and implemented my practical knowledge in rotating the turbine.
I had identified that input energy is needed for the movement of the turbine and thereafter, the
power can be generated automatically through basic principles of the induction. I had also
implemented my knowledge related to the senor for the accurate setup of the system in manner to
gather the input energy that can be utilized to rotate the turbine. I have also applied my
leadership skills in managing the whole activities and jobs in the project and roles and
responsibilities of each individual.
CE 1.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
I had taken the very first step to divide the project I phases and thereafter assign proper
roles and responsibilities of each individual of the team. I had assigned myself in the wind
energy conversion where I had established the turbine facing opposite side of the train movement
and established the turbine in connection with the shaft of the alternator that is alternatively used
for the production of the electricity. I had utilized the wind energy as the input source for the
rotational motion of the turbine and produce mechanical energy within the generator and
thereafter, utilizing the mechanical energy for the production of electricity. I had successfully
delivered the project that is an efficient system of utilizing the wind energy for power generation.

CE 1.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
1.3.4.1 Issues
The establishment of the turbine and connecting it with the shaft was the major problem
in the project as it needs to be exactly inclined on each other and friction should be minimum in
manner to manage the efficiency. I had identified that non-renewable source of energy should be
replaced with an effective and efficient renewable source of energy that is capable of fulfilling
the present needs.
1.3.4.2 Solutions
Trains and fast vehicles are not going to be stop for next hundred years and thus I find
this project as the solution to introduce the world with a renewable source of energy that is
capable of fulfilling the needs of the present population. I had calculated the best angle for the
adjustment of axle of rotor and turbine and used lubricants and bearing in manner to eliminate
the resistance loss that could have affected the efficiency of the project.
CE 1.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
This project’s concept was an innovative approach for providing the world with an option
of renewable source of energy and never ending source, which can be applicable for fulfilling the
needs of the population. Previous researches and experiments were done on utilizing the wind
energy, however, I have also included the power generation through utilizing the vibration
produced by the train.
CE 1.3.6 Collaborative work
The project was delivered in successful manner due to the contribution of each team
members in the team and the assistant professor. Everyone within the team had contributed their
