The electronic health record (EHR) used in a health care setting is a digital format of the
paper record of the patient’s health updates and treatment process provided. Electronic health
record (EHR) are patient-focused record system that stores information and makes it accessible
instantly to authorized users as well as provides security. While individuals with the access to
Electronic health record (EHR) consists of the medical details and treatment information of the
patients, an electronic health record (EHR) system has been developed in order to provide the
health care facilities with the method by which they can ensure error free and effective health
care and treatment delivery (French et al., 2018). The electronic health record (EHR) system
helps to warn regarding error occurrence during the treatment process and care giving. The
interfaces of the health care settings involve patient admission to the setting, diagnosis, treatment
providing, medication report and discharge plan. These interfaces of the health care giving are
recorded in the Electronic health record (EHR) system, and the system helps in regulating, and
keeping a track of all the details of the patient starting from the admission to planning of
discharge. It has also a facility to tract the treatment and other health care details of the patients
along with the outcomes of the treatment that has been administered (Wang & Song, 2018). The
setting has ensured that it has the ability to provide the health care facilities to deliver a better
treatment and care to the individuals in need.
