Why are Public-private Partnerships Important in National Incident Management System
Public Private Partnership (PPP) represents a partnership between the government agency
and private sector for delivery of services and goods to public (Osei-Kyei & Chan, 2015). PPP is
vital in the National Incident Management System as successful partnerships is able to attach
significant value to the preparedness and the emergency management through conduction of
different activities. They are also able to educate public in preparing for emergencies. They also
assist in resource allocation, planning, coordinated response, communication strategy and the
strategic recovery following the manmade or the natural disasters.
During Medical Triage, Which Organizations Or Partnerships Are Involved In START
Triage?
Simple Triage and rapid treatment (START) represented a method of triage that was first
used by the responders in quickly classifying the victims during mass casualty incident (MCI)
depending on severity of the injury. It had first been taught to the emergency workers in
California for use during the earthquakes. It was first developed at the Hoag Hospital, California
to be used in case of emergency services. Community emergency response team (CERTs) and
firefighting department developed it after the earthquakes. Public health organizations are mostly
involved in START triage.
What are Some Strategies to Improve Inter-Agency Communications and Coordination
between Local, State, And Federal Governments
Some of the strategies for improving the inter agency communication and coordination
between all government agencies include (Steelman & McCaffrey, 2013):

Presence of Single Centralized Engine: This represents a shared framework meant for
communication and collaboration across the organizational barriers. This must have
enough built in flexibility for allowing all the involved parties to have access to required
tools.
Presence of Routing Protocol: Agencies must adopt this strategy of how the information
need to be shared not just within themselves but also others.
Presence of Facilities of Site Telephony: There should be a dedicated network
responsible for handling the inbound calls effectively.
