The study aims to cater awareness and understanding related to role and responsibilities
undertaken during emergency occurrence. In addition the present report has shed light on
knowledge required to manage uncertain situation and why it is important to be aware of health
and safety. Most of the public service deals with the emergency incidence being responsible as
part of their role. In this respect the present study has investigated on how an emergency
situation is managed by public services. Moreover, public service Reponses has been reviewed
with respect to real world considering certain key points such as: principles of effective
emergency situation.

Introduction
The present unit has reflected required phases in order to manage an emergency situation. Main
purpose of this report is to shed light why and how an emergency situation can be managed. In
this respect, certain required standard has been illustrated in details. Emergency situation are
uncertain and it is difficult to understand, henceforth based on case scenario, the assignment has
outlined recovery stages by considering emergency incident and reviewed role of [public
services in context of real world examples. In order to avoid any kind emergency situation in
future, proper demonstration of various planning so different situation has been taken in account.
The assignment also deals with real world situation and example of tackling emergency by
public services. In order to understand the public service and UK based security service MI5 has
been taken in account.
P5 various principles of emergency incident response
As per the view of Akgün et al. (2015:856), role played by the management of any kind of public
services organization to maintain peace and security to the nation can be very beneficial in
enhancing its capabilities of securing the nation from threat. Various principles involved in
emergency incident response have been described properly below in this assignment.
Mitigation
The term litigation refers as the ability of reducing the impact of any kind of incident that is
going to impact on lifestyle or security of individual or nation. In order to reduce damages in any
kind of upcoming emergency situation, the role played by the management in minimizing
various effect of damages in situation. Proper mitigation can be very beneficial for enhancing the
role related to avoiding the situation like severe damage to lifestyle and loss of property due to
any kind of incident. In case of security threat like terrorism and war like situations, MI5 are
there in all over UK in order to deal with the situation like that. On the other hand, public
awareness and proper provision of information can be very beneficial for mitigation in very less
time of emergency. As per the view of dos Santos Rocha et al. (2016:25) role of citizens of any
nation in providing proper information to civil protection services can be very beneficial in
negotiation of damage related to the assets of nations
Preparedness

Preparedness is defined as the proper and authentic way for enhancing the capabilities of self
handling situation in any kind of incident (HUNT and GREAVES, 2017:85). Proper
preparedness of any kinds of situation can be very effective in dealing with various kinds of
threat in disturbing peace to the locality or the nation. Proper and effective Preparedness of any
situation also provides proper support as well as motivation to the participants of the service
provider. In case of MI5, the management of security service is trained in such a way that they
can easily use the various kinds of preparedness tools on various issues related to security of UK.
On the other hand Civil Contingencies Act 2004, clearly states that certain types of organization
needs to be prepare well in all kinds of emergency situation declared by the government of
UK(legislation.gov.uk, 2019). The various types of organization, can be local authorities such a
local hospitals, police as well s various intelligence services. The law and order needed to be
maintained by local governing bodies.
Response
As per the view of Gorham et al. (2017:63), proper response by management or individual
during any kind emergency situation can be very beneficial in dealing with situation in more
proper and effective way. Proper response in any kind of situation can be very effective in
dealing with emergency approach related to security situation of nation. In case of MI5, it can be
stated that the management has always responded in proper manner and effective manner to
enhance its role in dealing the threat related to the national security. In case of Emergency,
management of MI5 has used proper and effective way by coordinating with various department
in UK together proper and effective information to take suitable action. (Contingency Planning)
Regulations 2005 states that the local administration services has full authority to enhance its
role of managing law and order in proper place of emergency(legislation.gov.uk, 2019). Proper
use of the above act can be very beneficial in getting proper and effective response related to
emergency situation in any area of UK.
Recovery
Proper recovery after can be very effective in getting back on track despite of any kind of
damages done during situation. It can also be seen that the role played by the management of
various kinds government organization can be done by the proper and effective recovery of
assets. In recovery action proper cooperation between various kinds of department is very
necessary and important for developing trust among citizens during recovery from any kind of

damage. On the other hand it can be stated that the proper and effective sharing of information
can be very beneficial for executing various types of plan related to the recovery from any kind
of damages done by emergency basis. In case of MI5, proper coordination can be done by its
management with various types of private and public organization to recover as soon as it can.
Fast recovery can also be very beneficial in enhancing its capabilities of development of
motivation and self determination of issues in achieving target.
P6 Description of the recovery stage of various situations on an emergency
incident
Recovery after any kind of damages due to any kind of incident is very necessary for developing
the various trusts among the citizens of country (ALEXANDER, 2002:158). Recovery can be
done by the management in achieving proper and efficient target can easily enhance the role of
individual in obtaining high level of efficiency. On the other hand the role of individual in
enhancing various aspects of recovering from any kind of incident physically and mentally is
highly depends upon the various aspects of society and people living in surrounding. On the
other hand it can also be clear that the role played by the management in enhancing its capability
of absorption of damage can be obtained only after the proper and effective development.
Planning for Critical Infrastructure
Proper and effective use of strategic management of infrastructure can be very beneficial for
recovering from any kinds of serious issues related to the development of proper planning and
infrastructure in all aspects. On the other hand, the various role played by the management in
development phase of infrastructure can be played by the management in achieving target. In
case of flood in different part of UK in March 2019, it is seen that the role of government in
planning the critical infrastructure has become very beneficial in development of trust between
the citizens and government (Abbas & Norris, 2018:25). It can be seen from the proper and
effective use of strategic management of different plan has helped the management of different
types of infrastructure to focus on the improvement of infrastructure in regular basis. The flood
has damaged very large numbers of assets of different individuals as well as governments assets.
In order to maintain the effectiveness of various types of reconstructing and managing different
types of assets, proper planning can be very effective in reducing any kind of damage by flood in
future in all over UK.

Recovery in supply chains
As per the view of COPPOLA (2015:25), proper recovery in supply chain is very important after
any kind of incident as a small fault in supply chain can easily cause a lot of people to suffer in
the development. Supply chain is very beneficial for keeping the financial and economic status
of country running. In the flood happened in march 2019, it has been seen that there are breakage
in the supply of various chain in food and delivery of various types of basic food items(bbc.com,
2019). The large number of connecting supply routes gets severely damaged. These routes were
rails routes as well as roads in the locality. It has severely affected the basic survival items such
as food medicine to the people who got attached in the flood area. The fast recovery of
connecting line has been done as fast as the water level of flood reduces. The transfer of
medicines and food materials has been done by the proper use of helicopter and any other
medium.

Proper planning regarding the development of different kind of individual in approaching various
needs during any kind of emergency is very important. In order to enhance the proper and
effective use of planning and responding, the government of UK has used different independent
department of service for development of trust. The proper planning can be done by public
service sectors for decreasing the effects of various kinds of structure related to the development
of various issues. On the other hand, it has been seen that the various approach in the
development of plan is done by studying the previous records and analyzing its approach for

It has been seen that the flood is one of the major and devastating natural disaster causing a lot of
problems to humanity. It has been seen that the maximum of the area got submerged in flood
gets affected from very long duration of time. It has been also seen that the post flood like
situation always caused, the major affect in the locality of various areas in all over UK. It can be

also seen that the approach used for dealing with flood cannot be very easy. On the other hand,
one of the worst-hit areas was Capel Curig in Conwy County, which saw more than half a
month's worth of rain - 136.6mm - in time space of 24 hours (bbc.com, 2019). This has caused
very serious problems in all over the area. The downpour has also caused the worst hit in the
livestock of many farmers in all over the area. It has been also noticed that several temporary
barriers has also been erected in the bank of flooding river in all over UK in order to minimize
the effect of natural disaster in gaining a lot of issues. In order to gain high level of service, the
management of several government agencies takes the help of local rules in order to enhance the
various approaches in achieving target. On the other hand, various approaches in the
development of several issues in gaining difference in opinion can be very beneficial in obtaining
proper and accurate knowledge related to floods in all over the world.
Emergency in international (Ebola virus)
The viral disease in human has been very dangerous and it is known for maximum damages in
human body. It has been also noticed that the role played by virus in human body in affecting the
internal part of body cannot be ignored at any moment. The disease related to virus cannot be
treated very easily and sometime it gets transfer to other health person in very easy way. Ebola
virus has been one of the dangerous and incurable diseases in the human history. It has been also
seen that the research doctors has to be very active and preclusive in order to enhance its ability
to maintain the quality of work. In the year of 2016 it has been seen that West African countries
like Liberia, Sierra Leone has obtained very large amount of cases of death due to Ebola virus
(theguardian.com, 2019). It has been seen that almost ten thousands of people has been died due
to this particular viruses. In order to tackle this kind of situation, government of much country
has provided research expertise to find the antidote of this virus. The workers of WHO (World
Health Organization) has been used to tackle the situation of Ebola patients in Africa continents.
M4 the role of the public services on emergency incident
As per the view of DILLON (2014:25) role played by the management of different public
services in tackling various kinds’ emergency accidents is very important for the development of
humanity. It has been also seen that the role played by the management of different public
services after any kind of incidents can also helps the management to obtain trust of civilian.
Public services need to be very dedicated towards their work in order to maintain the image of

individual in achieving target. In order to track the various approaches made by the management
in tackling emergency situation, different issues related to managing public services to enforcing
law and order needs to be done by the local authority. Data related to the emergency incidents
needs to be collected after the proper recovery.
D2 Evaluation of real-world emergency incident and lessons learned
It has been seen that flood in UK has been a natural incidents in which large amount of human
gets affected. On the other hand Ebola virus has caused more than fifteen thousands of death to
almost its entire citizen in all aspects. It is also clear that the government of UK has used several
public services to tackle the condition in more proper manner. It has been also seen that the role
of individual in keeping the various aspects in different approach for dealing with emergency
incident needed to be prepared in proper and effective manner. However it is also clear that the
West African countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone has obtained very large amount of cases of
death due to Ebola virus which has damaged the high level of expectation in proper and effective
manner. The disease related to virus cannot be treated very easily and sometime it gets transfer to
other health person in very easy way as well as it can easily affect in the planning level of the
individual mentality and physically. On the other hand, problems related to the management in
various aspects of dealing flood in any part of world needs to be done in proper and effective
way. In case of MI5, proper coordination can be done by its management with various types of
private and public organization to recover as soon as it can. Fast recovery can also be very
beneficial in enhancing its capabilities of development of motivation and self determination of
issues in achieving target.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the assignment that the recovery can be done by the management in
achieving proper and efficient target can easily enhance the role of individual in obtaining high
level of efficiency in achieving target. The proper planning can be done by public service sectors
for decreasing the effects of various kinds of structure related to the development of various
issues. On the other hand it can also be concluded that proper recovery in supply chain is very
