IV. IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
The first challenge faced was lack of enough tasks to perform hence accumulating a lot of
downtimes. To solve the issue, I invented a project that could be helped to showcase my abilities.
In addition, I offered to help other members who sought my assistance with their projects.
Finally, I request the supervisor to allocate any stagnant projects to me.
The other problem encountered was the lack of guidance and direction for the first few
days. I felt lost and out of place. Thus, I opted to talk to the supervisor in relation to the training
program. I had to ask a question for direction at work which helped in clarifying all the aspects
of my work.
Finally, as an intern, I was left out of meetings and discussions which made me feel like an
outsider. Even though the meetings might be about confidential matters, I could have learned
more by attending them. The solution to this issue was talking to the supervisor to allow me to be
a silent observer since I would not be allowed to contribute to the discussions.
V. ASSESSMENT OF THE INTERNSHIP
A. Skills and Qualifications Gained During the Internship
The demonstration of my abilities at work indicated that I had gained self-reliance skills.
I have to admit that I do understand my strengths and weaknesses which helped develop these
skills. I managed to interact with different people who helped me improve my interpersonal
skills which included effective communication skills as well as participation in team events. I
managed to develop general skills like flexibility and problem-solving.
