Introduction
In current decades the industry of air cargo has increasingly grown in world-wide and
now the economy of global has an integral part in it. In 2017, air cargo of nearly 52 million
metric tons are transported from airlines in the worlds. Value are represented as nearly 35%
of the yearly world trade merchandise. In the industry of global air cargo that capacity of air
cargo are arranged by airlines of combination passenger (Kalakou, Psaraki-Kalouptsidi and
Moura 2015) Capacity of airlines are also provided by dedicated carriers of all-cargo, like
Airlines of Nippon Cargo and Cargo-lux International Airlines along with integers, for
example Service of United Parcel (UPS), FedEx and DHL Express. Service of All-cargo are
functioned by specific freighter aircraft, where the capacity that are available is submerged in
the transportation of air cargo. Freighter aircraft has been designed expressly for the air cargo
carriage or which can convert passenger configuration into freighter aircraft and it is also
used in transportation of express, air cargo and forward better than passengers (Dresner and
Zou 2016). As per airplanes of Boeing Commercial, revenue ton kilometres (RTKs) nearly
about 56% of global air cargo are moved in special freighter aircraft.
Supply chain cargo are process of consignments movement from creation to
destination, and are complex and regulatory requirements of subject that range, when they
especially involve transport and international movement by air. Air cargo are highly different
in its value and physical characteristics. The cargo are handled through the chain by various
of entities with includes aircraft operators, varying responsibilities, postal operators,
consignors, express carriers, regulated agents and ground handlers (Domingues et al. 2014).

Discussion
Global air cargo operations
Handling of cargo are performed at many airports worldwide by many companies
both big and small. Risk of high potential are raised for handling in quality deviations.
International air transport associations drives the standards operations of ground handling
development, processes of best practices, procedures and harmonization and consistency
global supports. IATA works to efficiency drive of cargo operations in all areas. Integration
of efficiencies with operations which plays a critical role increasingly for industry of air
freight now days. Cargo committee’s priorities are aligned with a plan of working into the
ground operations group (GOG) and different sub groups. Airlines and cargo handlers
together are concerned with the cargo operations from IATA cargo handling consultative
council (ICHC).
Types of aircraft operated or fleet structure of Emirates sky cargo
There are many types of aircraft in Emirates Sky Cargo for example:-
Airbus 380-800 (LD) – this aircraft capacity is about 15000kgs of cargo including
with full passengers.
Airbus 380-800 (HD) – this aircraft capacity is nearly about 8000kgs of cargo
including with full passengers.
Airbus 380-800 (QT) – this aircraft capacity of carrying is about 11000 – 15000kgs of
cargo along with full passengers.
Boeing 777-300 & 300ER – this aircraft capacity of carrying is about 21000kgs of
cargo along with full passenger.
Boeing 777-300ER (ULR) – this aircraft capacity of carrying is nearly 18000kgs of
cargo along with full passengers.

Boeing 777-200LR – this aircraft capacity of carrying is about 15000kgs of cargo
along with full passenger.
Boeing 777F – this freighter aircraft is most environment friendly which are operated
now days, it burns lowest fuel comparably others. It capacity of carrying is nearly 103
tonnes of cargo non-stop with lengths of 10-hour sector shown in figure 1 (Budd, Ison
and Budd 2015).

Boeing 747-400 ERF – this aircraft capacity is about 117tonnes. Its main cargo door
is deck side with a three metres height nearly, which allows the oversized shipments
to uplift that cannot be adjusted in passenger aircraft of belly hold shown in figure 2.
Long pieces of carriage are allowed by the nose cargo door.

cargo, customer can enquiry about the availability or fuel tier surcharge of carbon dioxide

based on Dubai i.e. Dubai world central (DWC) and Dubai international that is one the
biggest air logistics hub in the world (Akhavan 2017). It has under roof of over 185,000m2
and can handle than above 2.5 million tonnes per annum, and also operate 24/7, the industry
set a benchmark facilities of state of art.
Location and capacity
Emirates sky central facilities are located strategically and are positioned perfectly
with proximity which are close to the infrastructure, ports and airports to facilitate the cargo
transit that are efficient. Emirates air cargo of dual airports are handling more than 8000
shipment every day and every year about 2.5 millions of tonnes of cargo are handled.
Equipment of handling state of art and accessing of direct air side, emirates guarantee of
ramp transfer, connections and faster recovery for customer cargo. With additional the
availability of land for continuous expansion, future proof hub are handled for the growth of
commerce and global trade.
State of art of cool chain

Management of advanced shipment
Emirates sky central has invested special in cargo 24/7 control centre operations to
oversee the shipments status in real time. Trucks and planes schedules are monitored closely
via the network of services of road feeder. Emirates sky cargo are able to measures corrective
at any point of trip to ensure customer good are to be delivered on time shown in figure 4.

Customer and security clearance
Emirates sky central offer integrated facilities in customs clearance and screening,
including municipality and on site police shown in figure 5. This security ensures the
shipment cares with optimised workflows and efficiency at the design and also facilitates
items expeditions faster with the new standards settings for speed and safety (Selase 2018).

Emirates SkyCargo contributed 14% of total airlines transport revenue
(Cdn.ek.aero.2018-19report 2019).
It generated AED revenue of 13.1 billion (US$ 3.6 billion) and tonnage i.e. 2.7
million tonnes.
