Part A
Introduction
The discussion is based on self-analysis based on three key areas include diversity, cultural
intelligence, and emotional intelligence. In doing so, I will include self-analysis based on the
completion of key self-analysis surveys and tools. The self-analysis journal is based on the
topics which were covered in weeks 1-4 of the module MBA502. In this context, I am going
to create an individual self-analysis journal based on two evaluative surveys. In addition to
that, I will use the Johari Window Model of Self-Awareness for discussing the outcomes. I
am going to critically analyse my findings and those of my associates for further reflecting on
what I have learned about myself. Thus, the reflective essay is mainly based on the
assessment results I have gathered with the help of self-analysis surveys and tests (The
Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2020). This reflective essay is going to help me discuss key
strengths as well as areas of improvement in relation to my personality (The Foundation for
Critical Thinking, 2020). I will also review the main differences between my self-assessment
and those I have received from my two associates.
Self-analysis
While doing my self-analysis, I have found that the Johari Window Model is an efficient
technique which often helps people while understanding their relationships with others. I
studied and found that this model was first created by great psychologists in 1955 which is
now utilised in self-analysis groups as well as corporate scenarios as a heuristic activity. The
model of Johari Window allowed me to conduct self-analysis with the help of four windows
(Russo et al., 2016).

Based on learning acquired during week 1-4, I learned about my learning style, multiple
intelligence, the four windows of Johari Window Model, and emotional intelligence theory. I
also learned about globalisation and how it can impact my future (Medium, 2019). The
module MBA502 made me learn about the key role of emotion as well as culture for the
sustainable change in the upcoming time. I have realized that there are different kinds of
intelligence which allows us to evolve and grow in the personal and professional life. In the
context of learning style, I have identified my own learning style as combination learning
style (Lopez et al., 2018). Here, combination learning style (CLS) means when one’s learning
style is a combination of the two major learning styles then it is known as CLS. I have my
own learning style as CLS, because I am a both visual and logical learner. Apart from this, I
evaluated myself on the basis of different parameters such as self-awareness, self-
management, and social-awareness and relationship management (Haufler, 2013). For
instance, in the first EI test, I have received scores like 7, 8, 9, and 7 respectively while
getting a final score of 59. It means on a scale of 10, I am getting these scores and its shows
that I am having all the skills above average. Referred to Appendix-1, I would like to mention
that the module taught me how to become self-aware while managing self efficiently. I have
found that I am a socially aware person as I got a good score of 9. Apart from this,
relationship management needs to be improved for future development and growth (Burruss
et al., 2019).
There is one thing to be noted that difference between self-assessment done by me and those I
have received from associated, is not so big. It means, I need to learn and adapt things in an
effective way, so that I can fill the gap and become a better professional in future. The
module made me learn that becoming culturally intelligent, emotionally intelligent person
and a great leader in future. Also, now I believe that self-awareness is the tool with which one
can conquer this competitive world easily (Businessballs, 2019).
In addition to that, with the help of skills like self-regulation, self-awareness, self-motivation,
and social-awareness, I will be able to grow personally and professionally at future workplace
(Bumann et al., 2012). I learned that I can develop emotional intelligence (EI) into my
personality only after converting these skills into my competencies. In my opinion, learning
about EI and Johari Window, and self-awareness assessment, will definitely help me to
become a true leader and a better person in future. I also learned that if an individual is able
to use EI efficiently then he or she can become a competent and strong leader in any situation
(Petrovici, 2014).

During this module, I studied many subjects hence I learned that by considering EI as a great
tool we can have all necessary personality traits (Didarloo & Nabilou, 2017). The module
based on EI, CI and diversity made me learns that I should maintain a proper balance amid
knowing others and knowing myself. Earlier I used to think EI only about knows self, but
after learning about EI, I got to know that I also need to be capable to understand others while
understanding myself (Davies, 2016).
Conclusion
This EI based module, I learned that skills include self-awareness, self-management, self-
motivation as well as relationship management are helpful to know strengths and weaknesses.
I also understood that one need to know themselves first and then others. It is because
knowing self, allows an individual to become a wise person as well as strong leader. EI gives
the power to know when to let someone else lead as well as when to lead. I will use social
skills and empathy to build relationship management skills so that I can become a great
leader while understanding my co-workers and others effectively.

Part B Individual Self Analysis Journal
Introduction
This self-analysis journal is based on the Johari Window Model and its application for
conducting the self-assessment while identifying the key strengths and weaknesses (The
Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2020). In this journal, I am going to critically compare the
results as well as explain the Johari Window 4 quadrants along with the reflection on the
global competencies as a global citizen (Moon, 2015).
Johari Window Quadrants
In this context, I have found the significance of the 4 quadrants of the Johari Window
(Davies, 2016). These quadrants taught me a lot about my personality by helping me to know
my Arena (open), blind spots (blind), mask (hidden), and unconscious (unknown) qualities.
For instance, I did not know that I am a good influencer as well as a team-worker (The
Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2020). In this way, these qualities of mine were blind spots
for me and hence these are called the blind-self spots. By knowing about these qualities, I can
use them for future professional development. On the other hand, the arena quadrant made
me learn about qualities and attributes which are openly available to all. I am a good looking,
confident, and cooperative person. My cooperative nature, intelligence, technical skills and
communication skills are known to all. Thus, such qualities are my arena which will always
be with me in future career endeavours. Apart from this, it will help me to become a self-
aware and social-aware person. Later then, I also identified my hidden qualities, with the
mask-quadrant of Johari Window Model (Davies, 2016). When I interacted with the people
around me and my team members, I got to know about myself and others. For example, I
didn’t know I can be a good and influential leader. I also got to know about my critical
thinking skills and problem-solving skills which were hidden prior to learning into this
module MBA502. In addition to that, I also came to know about the unknown qualities of my
personality. These qualities were unknown to myself and others as well. In this context, I was
unaware of my time-management skills which were realized in the group work and personal
assessments.

Analysis of Strengths and Weaknesses
The module allowed me to realize and identify my areas of improvement while also
highlighting my strengths. With the help of knowing my strengths and weaknesses I can work
upon them and use them in a constructive way (Harp et al., 2017). In this context, based on
self-analysis, my strengths revealed are analytical skills, problem-solving skills, critical
thinking skills, cooperation, time management, verbal communication, language, cultural
intelligence, leadership and many more (Davies, 2016). On the contrary, I also got to know
about my areas of improvement as emotional intelligence, non-verbal communication, polite
nature, empathy, and creative problem-solving. In this way, this information is beneficial and
useful for the bright and successful career (Chou, 2019). I can convert all of my weaknesses
into strengths by only working on them from the perspective of improving such skills. Based
on the analysis of strengths and weaknesses, an individual can always become successful and
lead within personal life and workplace as well. In the future, I will take care of all my weak
points and include them into my short-term as well as long-term goals so that no area can
hinder me getting success in my desired career field (Businessballs, 2019).
Competencies
Now, I can get the competencies level and requirements from the perspective of employment
(Bumann et al., 2012). If I will be working in a MNC which is culturally diverse then I will
require demonstrating cultural intelligence skills and behavior at workplace. I will use
knowledge acquired into week 1-4 in such case. I would require to apply knowledge and
skills related to globalization. I also believe that in a culturally diverse global organization,
the role of emotion and culture is critical (Boud et al., 2017). It means every employee of
such organization needs to work hard towards sustainable change in the organization. In order
to achieve organizational outcomes, one need to work with their cultural intelligence and
emotional intelligence skills. I will develop my EI skills at best possible level and work
wisely. I will respect of all cultures and religions while trying to adapt different languages
(Ash & Clayton, 2014).
Conclusion
In whole, the discussion allowed me to learn about the different kinds of intelligence in the
context of employment, personal development and professional development. The whole
discussion and self-analysis has demonstrated the concept of emotional intelligence. Based on
self-analysis and self-evaluation, I have evolved my future action plan for the overall
