Culture refers to various beliefs, patterns and other products of the definite group of
persons which are passed from generation to generation. Diversity is the fundamental aspect of
the modern society. It enhances the opportunity of enrichment the people’s lives with various
backgrounds as well as experiences. Diversity also helps to work out some problems of equality,
acceptance and accommodation. Sociocultural is the structure which emphasizes responsibilities
of cultural and social context in the human learning. It is developed in three different systems
organizational, technological and ideological systems. The technological system contains various
skills and techniques used for the production. The ideological system consists of values, methods

of reasoning, beliefs and ideas. It begins in the early life and is innovated in every generations.
The peoples of the Australian society should distribute culture among themselves. It is organized
and integrated too. Culture contain different values in different domain like values in
environment and self-based values. The environmental based values are like cleanliness,
traditional development, risk and security, nature and so on. The self-oriented values are like
active passive, material non material, hard work leisure, immediate gratification and postponed
gratification, sexual abstinence or gratification, serious humor. Within the culture there are
various homogenous subgroups. These groups contain their individual customs, traditions, values
and behavior which are identical to a particular crowd in the culture. For example, the citizen of
Australia have a particular culture and within that culture there are many sub cultures like people
of the south and north have their own culture. They have their different modes of living,
learning, food, habitat and so on. Thus, culture itself is a wide term and it is subdivided in
subculture.
Acculturation is the method of psychological, cultural and social change which stems
from balancing two cultures. There are many models to illustrate the acculturation. The most
appropriate one is the Eric Kramer’s theory known as Dimensional Accrual and Dissociation
(DAD). Two important concepts in DAD are the semiotics and hermeneutics. The fourfold
model is the bilinear structure which categorizes two dimensions of the acculturation strategies.
First dimension deals with eliminating a person’s native culture and minority. Thus, this emerge
the five acculturation strategies like Integration, Marginalization, Separation, Multicultural and
Assimilation. When a person migrate from one culture to other they take some aspects from the
host culture. The cultural exchange can occur naturally or by cultural imperialism or
appropriation.

Adaption can be defined as the outcome of the negotiation posed by the acculturation.
Adaptation can of two types sociocultural and psychological adaptation. Psychological adaption
is the individual’s psychological and emotional well being like rate of their anxiety and
depressions. The Sociocultural adaptation is the method of successfully achieving interpersonal
talents to live effectively in the innovated culture like their social competence, achievement and
behaviour.
Cultural Intelligence is the term which is utilized in education, academic research,
government and business. It is the ability to relate and operate efficiently and effectively. It was
developed by Linn Van Dyne and Soon Ang. It is measured as the measure of individual’s
intelligence. Individual who has high CQ can successfully blend in the new culture (host).
Emotional Intelligence is the ability of an individual to realize his or her own emotions. It was
discovered by Michael Beldoch in the year 1964. EI contains empathy as it helps to relate an
individual to connect his or her own experiences with others. There are several models which
illustrate the EI but the most popular one is the Goleman’s model. Daniel Goleman represented
the EI as collection of talents and characteristics that drive the leadership performance. EI
presumes the rate of familiarity in the culture as well as context which may not be available
across various culture. EI may not transmit across the borders if ability of responding the
affective factors of the other holds different interpretations throughout the culture.
Cultural and Social Diversity plays an important role for an organization. Different
cultural modes can motivate the drive innovation and the creativity. The knowledge about the
local market helps an organization to achieve high profit from this competitive market. Local
knowledge, Insight and Cultural Sensitivity describes about marketing and higher quality. The
