Part 1
Workshops are of utmost importance as they help in developing a feeling of
self sufficiency in the students. I am very thankful to my teachers that I have been
able to attend all the lectures. The topics that were taught in the different lectures
over different weeks have really been very helpful. Among all these weeks, the one
that I have found most interesting is of week 5 that is the role of an ideal emotional
leader. As far as my understanding is concerned I feel that taking care of the
emotions of the followers is one of the prime duties of the leaders (Muller and
Turner 2017). Thus in the workshop that I have dealt with is mainly concerned
about this aspect.
I have used the 4 Cs: 21st Century Skills framework in order to conduct this lesson
so that all the learners might be able to develop a very good and detailed
understanding about this particular aspect. The four different Cs ares-Creativity,
critical thinking, communication and collaboration.
The inclusion of activities
The most interesting activity for the workshop was EQ test. I felt that thus
test would be very interesting and also very student friendly. However there were
initially some problems the students did not know how to carry on with their job
for the self appraisal or the self rating tests. I instructed the students to understand

of group discussions and also the personal sessions as well. The EQ rating form
was distributed to them and they were asked to give a suitable rating for
themselves. This activity was very interesting as students were able to realize the
areas of their strengths and the areas of their weakness. As a result of taking this
self rating test they would now be able to take up the relevant strategies in order to
overcome the areas of their improvement.The time allotted for this activity was 20
minutes. I explained the rules of the entire activity and then asked the students to
carry on with this.

topic. I explained them that an ideal leader wills be able to keep a control over his
or her emotions. He will be able to strike a proper balance between his positive and
also his negative mood. Kraus (2017) has agreed that due to the over burden of
work and the leaders might tend to get depressed and develop a negative mood.
However Li et al. (2016) has argued that the true brilliance of an effective
emotionally intelligent leader lies in the ability of controlling their emotions. They
might get angry or depressed but at the same time they have to make sure that they

occurred with them and to derive out important lessons from the same. I asked the

emotionally intelligent leader. I have learned that in order to establish myself as an
able leader I will have to understand the emotions of the employees. Through this
workshop I desired to not only conduct the workshop in a proper way but also to
learn some very useful lessons in order to become a guide for my team mates. In
order to become a guide, friend and philosopher I will have to provide all kinds of
support to my team workers or my followers. This support will not only be
restricted in terms of the professional filed but also in terms of the moral support. I
have learned that there are some very important aspects of leadership
– Strategic leadership
– Leading capability building
– Leading political / stakeholder interface
– Leading change
– Intellectual leadership
– Leading culture building
– Building relationships and reputation
