Reflection
Emotional intelligence is an ability which makes an individual to understand and manage
their own emotions in positive manner and how they can deal and overcome with the negative
feelings such as stress. It is important to understand because it helps a person to identify
someone else emotions and feelings and can be aware of their positive and negative emotions
and can build the better relationship with others (Halimi, AlShammari and et.al., (2020). This
emotional intelligence helps a person to connect with their feelings and can take the decision
according to that and enables them to grow in their personal and professional lifestyles.
I found this experience very interesting for knowing my EI test results. The emotional
intelligence parameters includes the four areas self awareness, self management, social
awareness and relationship management. I analysed that emotional intelligence is quite effective
and beneficial for me as it helps me to understand my own challenges and can overcome them
with definite manner. I founded that self awareness makes me to become more attentive about
my emotions and can recognize them correctly from which I am able to know about my
strengthen areas and weak points as well (Dishon, Oldmeadow and et.al., (2018). Understanding
my own emotions will make me to grow appropriately in personal and professional life. In my
opinion, I am not satisfied and disagreed with my first result of self awareness where I got 7

grades. I am quite good at understanding my own emotions and feelings and can manage myself
in particular situations.
Self management in emotional intelligence helps an individual person to control their
feelings and emotions and can manage themselves according to the different circumstances. It is
important to be understood because it helps the person to adjust at any situation and can control
their behaviour and manner appropriately (Molero Jurado and et.al., (2019). Looking at my
second result of self management I got 7 grades where I am agreed with the result as I am not
able to manage myself according to the situations and get easily stressed. Likewise, the social
awareness in emotional intelligence defines as to identify and understand the another person
emotions by looking and observing at their behaviours and body languages. It also helps the
person to develop their social skills and can respect each other emotions and ideologies. With the
third result of social awareness I got 9 garde where I am partially agreed and disagreed as I am
able to understand other people feelings sometimes and sometimes not as I am not quite perfect
and not quite poor at this. Also, the relationship management helps an individual person to
recognize the emotions of others and can build and manage the interactions between them
successfully (Pérez-Fuentes and et.al., (2019). In the fourth result of relationship management I
got 6 grade where I am quite disagreed with the result as I am not capable to manage and build
the relationship with them perfectly.
Through this result and outcome, I understand that I am required to keep focus and
improve my relationship management EI and self awareness EI where both are equally important
and beneficial for me. For improving the self awareness area I am required to improve my
cognitive skill for which I will do mediation, yoga and some other exercise which helps me to
enhance the self awareness EI in me. For enhancing the relationship management EI I will attend
the group discussion and more interaction with people which helps me to connect with them
appropriately.
From this experience I have evaluated one positive and negative aspect about me. The
positive aspect that has been found by me is that, I am able to manage myself according to the
circumstances. The negative aspect is that, I do not understand and can interact with people and
can build the good relationship where I need to focus.
