2. Characteristics of person who has high emotional intelligence (HEI)
There are various characteristics of person who has high emotional intelligence. These are
described as below:
Self-awareness is the major feature, this characteristic helps individual in understanding
needs pf co-workers and making them able to meet deadlines.
HEI individual always remain focused towards outcome without much thinking about
criticism (Hofmann, Carpenter and Curtiss, 2016).
People with high EI always show their empathetic behaviour towards other employees.
HRI persons always care for their relation, they think about everyone which helps them
to develop relationship with others.
3. Characteristics of person who has low emotional intelligence

Such people don’t pay much attention on views of others hence they don’t listen them.
They are pessimistic (Pabian and Vandebosch, 2016).
It is very difficult for them to maintain relations with others and they have lack of
empathy.
Emotional outburst is another characteristics of such low emotional intelligence persons,
they are unable to control over their emotions.
4. Ways to improve level of emotional intelligence
Assertive communication is the great way through which an individual can earn respect
and can show their opinion to others in effective manner.
Active listening is the another great solution of improving emotional intelligence, by this
way individual would be able to understand the actual situation and would be able to
respond significantly (Raman, Sambasivan and Kumar, 2016).
Approachable behaviour and being social are helpful tactics that may aid in improving
level of EI of individual.
5. Effectiveness of Emotional Intelligence test rather than an Intelligence Quotient test (IQ)
Emotional intelligence test is very important because by this way employer can evaluate
elf awareness capability of candidate, if a person has self-awareness capability then individual
would be able to work in a team easily and would be able to find alternative solution for very
complex conditions (Boyatzis, Gaskin and Wei, 2015). IQ test only show mental ability of an
individual whereas EI test show overall capability of applicant which helps in selecting the right
person in organisation. High EI helps in influencing behaviour of consumers and other
stakeholders hence employer now asking job applicants to undertake an EI test. High EI person
is more profitable for company than high IQ.
6. Workplace situations
A) Situation of low emotional intelligence
Workplace Situation 1 and outcome
I was working in ABC Limited firm as human resource assistant where I saw that
manager of marketing department always get upset due to high complains of consumers, he
always remained in bad moods which demotivate other lower level employees. That manager
was unable to control over his emotions and show negative emotions in front of staff members.
This thing makes other staff angry and they didn’t support that manager.

Workplace situation 2 and outcome
One of the peer group members of mine was having low EI, as wherever managers discuss
about new planning that person starts arguing on it because he was unable to accept changes so
easily. Most of the time he never listens to management even though they are saying about their
welfare. This behaviour of him has reduced its respect and constant interruptions has created
problem for other staff members to understand the things that are being communicated by top
management.
B) Situation of high emotional intelligence
Workplace situation 1 and outcome
While working in the organisation I have seen that my leader was too supportive and
always behave positive towards others. There was conflict between two persons in our
department but my leader has expressed his views very openly, he made both these persons
aware with actual condition and in respectful manner make them understood their mistakes. He
behaved positive that has resolved such workplace complexity immediately.
Workplace situation 2 and outcome
I saw one situation where my leader was coordinating with other team members, being as
senior leader it was our responsibilities to listen him. But one of team member has started
arguing with him, but leader listen his views carefully. He was very focused and this listening
skill has helped him in getting some more innovative ideas that has helped in minimising our
workload without compromising with productivity.
7. Learning style test
A) Learning style test
