Creative Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment involves the creation of an A2-sized poster that visually communicates the importance of empathy within the Design Thinking process. The poster is designed to answer the question: "What is Empathy and why is it so important for Design Thinking?" The solution includes an introduction defining empathy and its significance, followed by a discussion of empathy within the different stages of Design Thinking such as discovery, immersion, connection, and detachment. The poster emphasizes the role of empathy in understanding user needs and experiences to enhance the design process. The assignment uses academic literature and visualization techniques to present complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner. References from peer-reviewed journals are included to support the arguments presented within the poster. Figures such as "The steps of Design Thinking," "Understanding Empathy Map," and "Empathy Mapping" are used to illustrate concepts. The poster solution aims to provide a concise and informative overview of empathy's role in design, suitable for a diverse audience.

Empathy and its importance for Design
ThinkingIntroduction:
Empathy is the capability to fetch the
outside environment through other’s
eyes.
This includes the feelings what they
have been feeling and experiencing
what they have been doing.
In this presentation, the idea of
empathy is evaluated. Next, its
significance for the Design Thinking is
demonstrated here.
Understanding empathy:
Empathy is the innate quality in every people.
Various interrelated characteristics and
qualities are assimilating to create a more
empathetic approach to get involved with
others.Placing the traits and qualities in mind,
and the process of learning to develop them,
they have been forming the genuine and deep
understanding of the users.
Empathy in design thinking:
The various steps involve the following:
Discovery
Immersion
Connection
Detachment
Importance of empathy in design thinking:
Here, empathy has been vital since it has been
awakening the senses for the designers. Further, the
researchers have been in danger to reduce the
complicacy of the people for some terms over the sticky
note (Hess & Fila, 2017).
In contrast, empathy has been seeking to deepen and
enrich the experiences through the sensation of human
beings. It is where the service channels are vital. This
includes the asking of the following questions.
To find the way how technology can change the
relationship.
To seek the extent how much of an individual has been
living under a text-chat
To seek how much time is spent over the voice call
As any designer talk about the touch points it is needed
to find how often one can think about the reciprocal
experiences of the sensory touch (Ferreira, Barbosa &
Conte, 2016)
