SAID
I would say that Rosie has been going through
a very tough situation. She has experienced a
very tough childhood which has made her
completely isolated from family and love. The
deteriorating health condition of her 6-year-old
child Sam is affecting Rosie greatly. From the
case study it can be said that during the entire
duration of Sam’s treatment she stood strong
but when treatment does not seem well she
made a quick decision.
Rosie does not want any further treatment or
trial because she is not able to see her son in
great pain. The declining health of Sam and his
inability to even live his normal life without
pain has made Rosie devastated and she has
lost all her hopes. The lack of emotional
support in this critical situation has made her
very weak and along (Culha, 2019).
THOUGHT
I think that miserable condition of Sam and
Rosie must be analysed and treated with more
holistic approach. Sam is minor thus all his
decisions are taken by his mother on his behalf.
Hence Rosie must be provided with
appropriate support so that at home also she
can provide care to Sam without any difficulty.
Support from multidisciplinary teams or care
home nurses will be of great help for Rosie
(Gholamzadeh and et.al.2018). It will allow her
to make decisions in more structured way
instead of taking panic or emotional base
decisions (Yang and et.al. 2018). In my
opinion she has not be fully conveyed about
available support services for her as well as for
Sam which can make their lives easier and
comfortable.
DID
The service providers must have informed
about multidisciplinary teams and additional
support services for Rosie and her child. It
would have her helped emotionally and
financially as well. In addition to this doctors
must have also informed properly about the
implications of new drug trial so that she can
herself analyse and can make correct decision.
I also think that Rosie must have tried to
communicate or share her feelings with her
FELT
I feel that along with the treatment of Sam;
Rosie must also be included in decision
making. It seems that she is not aware about
the reasons of deteriorating condition of her
son or about the possibilities of new drug trial
(Zuber and Moody, 2018). This is the reason
that she is declining for further treatment and
does not want her son to bear any pain further.
I also feel that health care service providing
team must also communicate all important

family or any professional so that she can
overcome her trauma and can seek support
from family members as well (Peixoto and
Moura, 2020).
information with her so that she can also take
decisions with more accuracy. Suitable
communication from the service providers will
make her believe in health services (Wu and
Wu, 2020). I strongly feel that if she would
have support from Sam’s father or other family
member then it will become less challenging
for her to struggle with everyday care needs of
Sam. It will encourage her further to seek
support for all possible treatment options
instead of giving up in this situation.
