INTRODUCTION
For performing in an effective manner, and for achieving personal and organisational goals
and objectives, it is very important for a person to have proper skills set. This will help them in
giving their best to their work, by which performance of them and organisation can get improved.
Following report will help in gaining knowledge about the responsibilities and performance
objectives required for a person working in health and social care industry. Along with this, it help
in gaining information how the skills can get improved of that person. For another task, chosen
organisation is Alzheimer's Society, which is one of the leading social care organisation in the
world. They use to provide services in care and research sector, and was founded in 1979. They are
headquartered at United Kingdom. In this report a discussion will take place on tools which help in
improving the problems at work place. Along with this, a study will take place on the
communication style and their impact on organisation. Along with this, importance of time
management will get explained. In the last a discussion will take place on the roles of people played
in a team and in it's goals along.
TASK 1
1.1. Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives.
I am working as health care assistant in health and social care industry. It is very important
for me that, I must understand my roles and responsibilities which I have to play in my job. This
will help me in getting clear information that what I have to do and not to do in organisation, so that
my performance become valuable for them. Along with this, it is mandatory for me to set some
objectives for my own performance which I have to achieve. This will help me in developing
myself, and also help me in making proper contribution so that organisation can achieve their goals
and objectives. To being a health care assistant, the main responsibility of mine is to examine and
determine the conditions of patients, communicate with them and to their relatives, prevent patients
and other from any type of infection, provide proper food, take blood samples, along with this the
responsibility of checking the lab that it is working properly or not is my duty. Therefore, it
objectives which are set by me regarding my performance are, try to supervise patients as much as
possible, also provide them proper food and care suggested by doctor ( Benson, Morgan and
Filippaios, 2014). This will help me in giving my best, so that my performance can get improved.
1.2. Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives.
The objectives of mine are defined above, that to being a health care assistant in health and

care industry, my objectives are to provide proper care to patients, and also try to supervise patients
as much as possible. This objectives help me I improving my performance in organisation, and also
help in making good relationship with patients, so that they get well soon. When it come to
evaluation of my performance according to defined objectives, it is not very much effective. Some
time it become very easy to provide proper services to ample number of patients, and also satisfy
them by the services ( Deeley, 2014). But many time, it remain no longer easy for me that I give my
100% to many customers. As when I try to give my 100% then services get restricted to few
patients and if I went to give service to ample number of customers, then the percentage of my
performance get decreased. This all leads in reduction of effectiveness to my performance and also
cause to failure in achieving my objectives. The main reason behind this is lack in time, and I
always try to do many things in very few time.
1.3. Make recommendations for improvement.
It is very important for me to make some improvements in my skills, so that my
effectiveness get improved and I can achieve my performance objectives. For doing so, some
recommendations for me is that, I can attend some training and development sessions, by which I
can get knowledge that how skills can get implemented in my work, so that time issue do not get
arise. Along with this, I have to study on time management, which will help me in improving my
skills related to time management. This will help me polishing my skills and also help me in gaining
more skills that how I can manage time, so that I can take care and meet patients as much as
possible in very less time. This also help in proving my service to ample number of patients in very
less time, so I can make huge number of patients satisfied. Along with this, it is recommended to me
that, I have to make proper list of patients along with their problems for which they are here, and
also have to note the time which I have to give them. Doing this will help me in managing my time
and will also help me in getting knowledge that where and how much time I have to spend. Doing
these changes in my working style can help me in increasing the effectiveness of performance
objectives.
1.4. Review how motivational techniques can be used to improve quality of performance.
It is very much essential for me that, I must keep improving my skills and quality of
performance, so that improvement in my objectives keep on rolling. Along with this motivational
techniques will help me in improving my skills and also in making improvements in myself.
Therefore, it is very important to keep my self motivated, as motivation will help in keeping try and
also increase my moral in some negative conditions. This also help me in encouraging myself in
negative conditions like when my performance is not very good, or any patient is not getting

satisfied by my service and other. This also help me in maintaining positiveness in my performance

TASK 2 & 4
2.1. Develop solutions to work-based problems.
The organisation which is chosen for this task is Alzheimer's Society. It is a charity
organisation which use to provide their services in charity and research work. They are England
based organisation, which provide their products and services in London, England, Wales and
Northern Ireland. There are ample number of problems at their work place, which is affecting their
performance, and it is very much needed for organisation to provide solutions for it. One of these
major problem is, lack in structure of communication, which leads to damage in information, which
top management of organisation what to share. This leads to confusion among employees about the
roles and responsibilities which they have to play for achieving the goals and objectives of
organisation. This also cause to lack in proper information among employees, due to which they are
not able to perform and give their best to organisation ( Ito and Kawazoe, 2015). For solving this,
top management of organisation have to make plans and strategies, so that they can provide proper
training session to their employees. In these sessions, information can be provided to employees by
which their skills of listening, their gestures and lastly communication of information in hierarchy
get improved. This will help employees in getting and dispatching the information given to them in
proper manner, so that accurate information can get transferred.
4.1. Evaluate tools and methods for developing solutions to problems.
For solving the problem, it is very important for the manager of Alzheimer's Society have to
adopt appropriate tools and techniques, so that they can provide appropriate solution for the
problem. In Alzheimer's Society major problem is structural breakdown in hierarchy for supply of
information. This lead the organisation in improper flow of information due to which employees of
organisation are not able to get proper details about the functionality of organisation along with
their roles and responsibilities. For this, they can provide proper training and development sessions
to their employees, so that they can dispatch information in systematic manner. This is the most
powerful tool and technique which organisation can use, so that they can make a proper hierarchy in
their system for making proper flow of information ( Jackson, 2014). Along with this, the major
problem for organisation is lack in retention of employees, which leads to decrease in number of
experienced employees in organisation. For this, they use to identify that, why they are facing this
problem and why their employees use to switch job from their organisation. This will be a string

tool for them, where they can directly find solution for the problem rather then wasting time over
finding issues.
2.2. Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various levels.
There are ample number of communication styles which an organisation can adopt.
Alzheimer's Society is a huge organisation therefore, it is very much necessary for them to adopt
communication style, which have several level of communication. This will help them in making a
communication hierarchy where each and every element of organisation can communicate with
each of them and can share required information. For this, they have to make and manage a proper
professionalism in their communication style, in this top management or can say higher authorities
have power to communicate with board of members. After this, middle level managers can get
information from top management via some seminar or conference. This system can be said as most
significant for them, as this help middle manager in getting information with verbal as well as
written form. In the last, for revolving the information in lower level of organisation, it is required
for middle level manger of organisation, to provide big seminars and conferences to them. This will
help middle level manager in providing detail information to the lower level of organisation, so that
they can get proper information that what they have to do and how they have to do.
4.3. Evaluate the potential impact on the business of implementing the strategy.
In the initial phase of implementation of the strategies, it is very much possible that
organisation have some positive and negative impacts on their functioning. But the most favorable
chance which an organisation have is positive impact on their functioning ( Mishra, 2014). Along
with this, for Alzheimer's Society it is very important that they must implement the strategies in
appropriate manner, so that they can get some positive affect of those strategies. By adopting the
above hierarchy of communication, they can make a proper set of communication, which are
required by them to follow in organisation. This will help them in making proper flow of
information in systematic manner, so that required information can get transferred from board of
managers to lower level of organisation. This also help employees of organisation in getting
knowledge about the roles and responsibilities, which they have to play,s o that it become easy for
organisation to achieve their goals and objectives. This also help employees in getting opportunities,
which can help them in achieving their goals and objectives.
2.3. Identify effective time-management strategies.
For the management of Alzheimer's Society, it is very much needed that they must adopt
some effective time management strategies in their organisation. This will help them in attaining the

tasks of them in specific time period, so that the efficiency of them can get improved and they also
improve their performance. For managing the time, the strategies they can use are very logical and
disciplined approaches. In this, the first is diary management, in this it is very important for an
individual to maintain a dairy with them, so that they can note down the required and important
tasks which they have to do in urgent ( Pârvu, Ipate and Mitran, 2014). This will help them in
reminding the work which they have to perform on some specific time. This will help organisation
and their staff members in improving their time management techniques and also help them in
completing the tasks in some specific time period.
4.2. Develop an appropriate strategy for resolving a particular problem.
In the beginning of this, it is very important for top management of Alzheimer's Society, to
provide proper training and development sessions to their employees, where they must get training
that how can they improve their time management. In this session it is also required for them to
provide training that how they can use diary and how it can help them in improving their time
management. This will help employees in getting proper information that how they can
management their time, by which their efficiency get improved and their can perform in better
manner. This also help organisation in achieving their goals and objectives in very less time or can
say that in defined time.
TASK 3
3.1. Explain the roles people play in a team and how they can work together to achieve shared
goals.
For organisation like Alzheimer's Society, it is very important for them to have teams with
people of different mind, that can work together to complete the assigned tasks in very effective
manner. Along with this, according to Belbin theory, every individual in an organisation are
supposed to play different roles, which are defined below :-
1. Action oriented roles : This the type of classification where an individual have very vast
shape of the roles, so that they can complete the tasks assigned to them. In this very tough
tasks get assigned to the team members, and top management use to motivate them so that
they can achieve this.
2. People oriented roles : These are the individuals like coordinator, team worker, and resource
investigator. They use to make sure that the working of each and every team is maintained
( Rao, 2014). Along with this, they use to take care that proper coordination get maintained

3. Thought oriented roles : They are the individuals in a team which use to give innovative
ideas for organisation, so that the assigned tasks for their organisation can get performed in
proper manner.
3.2. Analyze team dynamics.
For getting knowledge about the team dynamics, Tuckman's model can be said as very
important (Tuckman's Model. 2018). Beneath is the explanation of four stages of this model :-
1. Forming : This is the first stage of this model, where team meetings take place. In these
meeting the opportunities, challenges get explained to employees and then they use to agree
on tasks and start working over it.
2. Storming : This is the second stage of this model, where different individuals of a team use
to start believing and trusting over the decision of one another. This stage generally arises
when the task of that team get initialized.
3. Norming : This is the stage where dispute between team members take place, and they use
to split their team in different parts. This condition arises when the team members are aware
about the competition and they use to share a common goal.
4. Performing : This is the last stage of this model, where employees come together, so that
they can achieve their common goals. This condition arise, when they get motivated and get
information about the roles and responsibilities they have to perform.
3.3. Suggest alternative ways to complete tasks and achieve team goals.
Another method which can help in making teams, completing tasks and also in gaining team
goals is proper communication in an organisation ( Riebe and Jackson, 2014). This help individuals
of team in getting the proper information about the roles and responsibilities they have to play in
organisation, so that they can achieve their goals and objectives. This lead their organisation in
making an effective team, which have ability to work in order to gain their as well as organisational
goals. If there is any loop holes in communication system, then it can become problem for them, as
it become very much tough for them to attain team goals by which organisation is also not able to
attain their goals and objectives.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it is concluded that, there are different roles which a person have to

have to achieve. Along with this, they can improve their skills by using different methods. In such
conditions, motivation also plays an important role. Also, there are different tools and techniques
used by an organisation for solving their work base problem. Effective communication in an
organisation help them in attaining their goals and objectives and also time management is very
important for them. Also individual in a team play different roles, by which team and organisational
goals can get achieved. Along with this, organisation have to make proper communication system I
their organisation.
