Introduction
Generic employability skills are important in terms of developing the competitive image in the
professional field. Employability skill is being defined as the transferable skill which is
important for gaining the subject knowledge as well as outlining the set of skills in professional
field (Bui and Nguyen 2019). In terms of initiating variety of tasks in different organizational
environment, employability skill can significantly bring impact on the personal growth process
of individuals. Employability skills are sometimes being called as the soft skills that influences
the professional growth (Kurtz, Draper and Silverman 2017). In order to strengthen individual
abilities it is important for individuals to gain employability skills. In the professional field,
communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and organizing, technological knowledge,
problem solving ability and self-management are being considered as the important
employability skills that can not only enhance the professional skills but also it can make a
person confident and strong. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that there is a significant
interrelationship between employability skill and academic skill, which is important for bringing
both the personal and professional development in a person (Jackson 2016). In the academic
field, speaking, reading and listening skills are important which helps to develop strong team
management ability in a person. The purpose of this study is to shed light on the analyzing my
own academic as well as employability skills for understanding my strength as well as
weaknesses, which cam help me in future in terms of developing a strong career graph. In terms
of understanding my abilities, SWOT analysis has been conducted in this report that has helped
to critically access my abilities. In the end of this study, recommendations have been provided
that can ensure my growth in future.

Discussion
In both the academic and professional field, soft transferrable skills bring the significant impact
in terms of developing the good bonding with the team members (Magsamen-Conrad et al.
2020). Communication cam be considered as one of the effective skills that enhance the
interactive ability of a person, which reflects the positive attitude of a person towards others.
Creativity and integrity are also included in the soft transferrable skill that can help to share the
personal as well as professional values in the workplace (Messum et al. 2017). In order to
understand by employability skills, self-assessment has been conducted by me. Using the self-
assessment tools such as emotional intelligence test and big five personality tests and mind tools
such as time management test, team developing skill, communication and career development
ability test, I have analyzed my own strength as well as abilities which has helped me to
understand what kind of abilities I have developed in mine.
In the emotional intelligence test, it has been identified by me that I have scored 8 in self-
awareness, in self-management I have scored 4, in Social awareness I have scored 5 and in
relationship management I have scored 5. Analyzing all the scores, I have gained knowledge
regarding my strength as well as weaknesses. The score that I have gained in the self-assessment,
it defines that I am not self-confident and not quite aware of my limitations, which can create
negative impact on achieving the professional goals. On the other hand, I can also say that
honesty and integrity are the important weaknesses of mine. I have scored well in self-awareness,
which denotes that I am quite realistic and aware of my surroundings. This denotes the problem
solving ability of mine. In case of self-awareness and relationship management, I have scored
moderate. It defines that I need to work on improving these skills of mine.

In the Big five personality test, most important personal characteristics of individuals can get
measured. This test can be considered as one of the popular test that can bit only help to analyze
the personal ability, but also through this test the professional characteristics of a person can be
significantly analyzed (Messum et al. 2016). In the Big five personality test, I have scored
average in all the tests that defines that I am quite shy and cannot blend myself in every situation.
Using the mind to career development test has been conducted by me in which I have scored 46
which defines the average quality of my area development abilities. In leadership and
management I have got 8 out of 15 that defines that I have moderate kind of leadership quality
that can and bring opportunities for me in terms of handling the team. I have scored 5 out of 15
in problem solving and decision making ability which defines that I don't have the good
judgmental ability as well as critical thinking ability which can create challenges for me to deal
with the issues as well as conflicts that can be e aroused in the workplace. Communication can
be considered as the important skill which is very important to improve career graph of a person.
In the communication skill test I have scored 11 out of 15 which defines the positive interactive
ability of mind that can help me in terms of dealing with conflicting situations in the workplace.
By continuing this it can also be saved that with the strong communication skill I have active
listening ability which can help me to manipulate others decision making process.
In personal mastery I have scored 9 out of 10 which can help me to drive the good choices
towards future. This can be considered as the biggest strength of mine which helps me to set my
personal goals which makes me confident and increases my self-esteem. In communication test I
have scored 7 out of 19 that defines that I am not efficient in interacting with others. Due to my
shyness as well as lack of openness, I may face various challenges in my professional career. On
the other hand, it can also be said that

Time management can be considered one of the important skills which is required to bring
betterment in in professional as well as academic career. Good time management ability allows a
person to accomplish the task in shorter period of time which leads to more free time (Ghosh
2017). In every professional field time management is important for reducing stress as a less it
helps to enhance the learning opportunities of individuals. In order to improve the life aspects
time management ability is very important for the students also. It also can be defined as the
thinking ability which helps to prioritize task in in an accurate manner. In order to complete
activities and learn to manage the task within given schedule time management can be defined as
the important ability. In time management test I have scored 56 out of hundred, which defines
that I can manage time effectively which helps me to set my goals in proper manner. It is also
true that I have scored out of 10, in goal setting which defines that I need to walk a little bit on
goal setting process so that I can maintain the smoothness in my performance. In prioritization, I
have scored 24 out of 30 which is defining that I am quite aware of my duties. It also define that
in my ‘to do’ list I can be able to manage my actions based on priorities of the task on the
particular situation.
Managing interruption is one of the important components which is required to develop time
management ability in a person (Ghosh 2017). Managing interruptions is about knowing the
ways to minimize interactions while performing a job. In the workplace managers should be able
to recognize the interruptions and avoid them properly so that they can do their job without any
interruption. In the professional field interactions may occur due to do questions from
employees’, phone calls and information request from the customers, which can create
unexpected situation for the host of the company. In this test, I have scored 15 out of 20 which
considered that I am aware of the situation and can be able to you manage such kind of

interruption which can help me to deal with the situation in proper manner. Scheduling is an
important element in time management. Effective scheduling process can help to ensure that
activities can be properly tracked which can indirectly protect a person from stress. In
scheduling, I have scored 8 out of 10 which define that I have the knowledge regarding
scheduling the priority that can help me to protect myself from unexpected situations.
Team management can also be defined as the important ability of a person that can help to
ensure the effective bonding in a team (Arnedillo-Sánchez and Tseloudi 2017). In management I
have scored 56 out of 100 that ensures that I am a better team player who can build strong
bonding in a team. Team development is an important component in team management in which
I have scored 9 out of 10. The score defines that I am quite effective in team building and due to
my positive attention towards the development process of my team can establish my image as a
popular leader in the professional field. Feedback based on employee performance needs to be
transparent for maintaining the honesty and integrity in a team. in this test I have scored 9 out of
10 that defines that I am quite efficient towards providing information based on equals
performance that can help me to characterize my ideal image in front of my team members. In
order to perform in a team participation and articulating vision are the important abilities.

practices. By defining the academic skills, it can be said that these are certain skills that boost the

In the academic writing field, Time management, team working and communication are the
general transferrable skills, which can be transferred from one person to another. On the other
hand, paraphrasing can be defined as the important academic skill in which changing the words
in a paragraph, the writer represent the entire thinking process of the paragraph in his own words.
Therefore, it can be said that translating other person’s idea can be considered as the
paraphrasing skill. In the academic field, essay writing can be considered as the basic part of
academic writing. By adding the relevant information, based on the own research the person
represent own idea in words. In the academic field communication and presentation of thoughts
are important for developing connection with the listeners (Perelgut et al. 2018). Through this
process the passion as well as connection with the audience can be developed. Avoiding
plagiarism can also be defined as an important skill that can help to represent individuals’ idea in
different words. Through proper in texting plagiarism can get avoided.
Conclusion
In this study, it can be concluded that in both the academic and professional field communication
time management and team building skills are the most important skills which are required to
bring improvement in both the personal and professional graph. In the above analysis using
different tools strength and weaknesses of mine have mean judged. In the end of this study I
strongly believe if I will be able to walk on my weaknesses it can ensure positive impact on my
professional field. I also believe developing a personal development plan by prioritizing
communication development as the important task of mine I can be able to work on the particular
area in proper manner. By continuing this, it can also be said that improving the problem solving
