2EMPLOYABILITY SKILL
1. Introduction:
Event management is my coursework and being the student of event management I
would be able to gain in-depth knowledge and experience on how to conduct various events. In
this very specific study, I have focused to evaluate the effectiveness of this particular coursework
that enabled me to develop my future career. I have mentioned the current job specifications with
which I can develop my path of career. While evaluating my experience I would get to know the
way of improvement for enhancing my career in this field.
2. Discussion:
2.1 Know your sector
How can networking helps you in becoming more commercially aware of your sector
In the commercial sector especially in the event management industry an individual has
to learn on how the build effective communication with public for widening the area of network.
The role of an efficient event organizer is to make effective co-ordination with public, to make
proper stakeholder analysis, to convey the message of event to proper destination and to deliver
the quote for building an effective public relation (Jones and Jones 2014). These particular
activities can be successful only when an event organizer would be able to maintain a proper and
effective relationship with the stakeholders.
In order to make an event successful many eminent personalities has to be present for
delivering effective speeches. The event organizers have to convince the sponsors as well for
making the entire event effectively (Lindell 2013). However, in order to make people understand

about the significance of event an individual should have that much of effective communication
skill so that eminent personalities get easily convinced for attending the event. As a result, the
entire effort of the event would be commercially successful. Public relation skill and managerial
skill are the two primary competencies that a successful event organizer should have for being
associated in this field.
Reflect on the networking experiences you have attended
At my educational career of event management, I have attended two significant events
that include one fund raising event and one music event. The primary objective of that particular
fund raising event was to raise sufficient amount of money for contributing an orphanage so that
orphan children can maintain their education and extracurricular activities. In this very specific
charity event I had to take part a small role of stage coordinator. I had to guide the guests and
community leaders for reaching the event destination. While giving them a proper direction on
how to reach the stage I had to face immense communication barrier while interacting with them.
In this situation, I had realized my area of network for building public relation would have to
widen so that I can build an effective communication with the eminent personalities.
In the second event that is music event, I had to play the role of an event coordinator,
which took place at my institution. It was a complete commercial event where large number of
eminent singers gave amazing performance. However, while playing the role of an event
coordinator I has to face innumerable difficulties for convincing the community leaders, singing
stars due to the lack of professional skill and competency.

4EMPLOYABILITY SKILL
Business management helped me immensely in developing my managerial skill, time
management skill and decision-making skill. People belonging to various cultural backgrounds
and attitudes are associated with a business event (Eggins and Slade 2012). Therefore, as a
business coordinator the individual should have proper skill and competency for dealing with the
people of different cultural backgrounds and attitudes equally. In addition, in order to maintain
the entire flow of event, business management personality should have efficiency in
technological skill and competency. As a result, the entire flow of work can be maintained in a
systematic way.
Analysis of a professional qualification and explanation of the rationale
Apart from my primary coursework, I have maintained two additional courses for
enhancing my career more effectively. I did one course on leadership and one certificate on
linguistic so that my accent and communication skill did not become a major barrier while
interacting with the participants. Leadership skill is highly important for making a proper balance
among the entire flow of work. With the help of an effective leadership skill, I can share
necessary information with my teammates. As a result, both the service providers and the service
users can get equal benefits and facilities after following a proper leadership at the workplace.
The primary reason of achieving these two certificate courses alongside my event
coursework is developing my communication skill as well as leadership skill. These two
competencies are inseparably related to event management (Bladen et al. 2012). If an individual
does not become a good communicator, the individual would not be able to coordinate the entire
event program successfully. In addition, for maintaining an effective team rapport

implementation of effective leadership style is highly significant. As a result, I have decided to
opt these two courses alongside event management course.
Plan to acquire these recognized professional qualifications and how it helps in clearing
interviews
I personally believe that only a course work in event management may not be effective
for clearing various interviews. In order to get special preferences from human resource manager
of an organization I should have additional qualification and competency for drawing their
attention. However, I have decided to make an additional course on leadership and linguistic so
that I do not have to face difficulties in communicating with the eminent personalities
effectively. At the same time, with the help of an effective leadership skill I would not have to
face effective challenges in controlling the performance of team members. However, before
hiring me as a professional, I should grab those two additional skills in order to get first
preferences.
2.3 Let them know you
Description of the current job and the specification for the job
I have applied for the post of event executive in a reputed business firm. The role of an
event executive is to make effective deal with clients regarding the arrangement of events. I
would have to work under event manager. By following the instruction of event manager, I
would have to communicate stakeholders, the eminent personalities invited for this event,
internal employees who are associated with the event and so on.

6EMPLOYABILITY SKILL
The two most important skills that would require for achieving this job include decision-
making and communication skill (Lindenmayer et al. 2013). I should have proper efficiency in
communicating with the team members so that I can share necessary thoughts and ideas.
Include what skills the job requires and how your CV and LinkedIn profile demonstrate
the essential and desirable skills
In order to become an efficient event executive the primary skills that I need to grab
include communication skill, time-management skill, decision-making skill and managerial skill.
My CV and LinkedIn profile clearly demonstrates my educational backgrounds and additional
professional skills that I have gathered alongside doing the course. In addition, using star method
I have evaluated three interview questions I have faced at the interview session.
